Where can I get one? I’m obsessed just from watching your videos!!!! I want one so bad I believe I’ll do good you’ve explained it so well. I think my favorite is the ones that hang with finer long leaves😍 happy growing
I use orchid spray for my Hoyas. I spray the foliage once a week. I usually do it in the evening as my Hoyas get some direct light and I don't want the leaves to burn. I've definitely noticed an increase in new growth with it. I just started this growing season so haven't done it over winter yet. I live in a humid environment so I still have a lot of growth happening. I think I'll lessen it to once every two weeks and then see how it goes. May go down to once a month for the rest of the winter season once growth slows. We'll see.
I use orchid spray on my Hoyas. I notice that they love it and put out a lot of new growth. I have a hoya that didn't grow much over the last year, but exploded with growth a soon as I started using the spray on it.
Perfect timing for this video! I have some Hoya Kerrii propagations I need to pot and haven’t because I’m intimidated by them. Buuuuuut this video is so helpful 😄
I love this video I learn a lot. Yes the orchid fertilizer does work. I used it on a couple of my Hoyas during the summer and I got growth and blooms. I was happy to see my Hindu rope. blooms.
They do amazing with MSU orchid fertilizer. First Ray's sales a k-lite. I have used for years. I have a 3 year old Bella that had 53 blooms last summer. Got a picture. Great video and helpful info (o;
Hi Ashley! So nice to find you here on UA-cam! Finally a Fantastic in depth Hoya care video. Love your Hoyas, they are gorgeous just like yourself. Thanks heaps for the tips and tricks. Looking forward to more of your videos.
One way to check if a hoya needs water without risking breaking the leaf with the taco test is to just feel a leaf between your thumb and pointer finger! The leaf will feel firm when it’s hydrated and thin/soft when it’s thirsty.
Hi I use orchid fertilizer on my hoyas. I use the RepotMe slow release and liquid msu orchid fertilizers. When potting the hoyas I add some slow release and then additionally once per month…maybe two times in summer I use the MSU liquid when watering. I have some orchids too, so it just seemed natural the hoyas would enjoy this too. Repotme fertilizer is awesome I highly recommend.
Hello. I've been using nothing but Repot me soil. Its absolutely fabulous for "no " fungus nats issue & I also use the Feed Me mist food spray for the foliage. My Cornosa Queen had a stem with no leaves forming until I started misting the plant. Its like I awaken a sleeping beauty & its still shooting out new growth headed into Winter. I mist all of my Hoyas with it every 7 days. Sorry, but I don't agree with stressing out a plant to get a bloom. The bloom will not be of good quality going thru starvation of water. But I have heard others say that.My Exotica gave me a beautiful, big pink, chocolate scent bloom that last over 2 wks. All from the help of Feed Me mist spray from Repot Me. Thank U for the % off.
Hi Ashley! This was a great video. Very professional and informative 💚 I am curious if you have heard of the "flat mites " that some You Tubers are talking about , or if any of your subscribers are doing anything about them? I have heard they are not visible to the eye, and that a sulphur spray is needed. Any advice?
I love Hoya so much it has been my favourites the first time i fell in love with them is the variegations so my Hoya Krimson Princess and Queen were my first buys. Then it was the Compacta one’s. Then got into the splashy and silvery leaves ones. Now into the amazing veining and large leaves ones. Don’t have a sun stressed Hoya one yet.
Hi Ashley, Happy Early Thanksgiving 🍁 I also enjoyed the information you gave in the vid. 😁 I started putting an orchid fertilizer on all my Hoya back in the summer time, and now I got my very first Hoya to bloom! It’s a Bilobata and it now has four peduncles, the first three have all flowered and re-flowered multiple times! It’s still blooming now in November. I just found the fourth peduncle, and I can’t believe it’s still blooming this late in the season!
7:53 Loved the video. My home uses well water, which at times I can smell the sulfur. I have a filter on the kitchen faucet for drinking. So can either be used to water your Hoya or should I use bottled spring, purified or distilled water?
My Hoyas are really growing right now! After I brought them inside from being out on my screened in porch all summer, they’ve been putting out lots of new growth indoors. I have them in a bright window and they’re very happy so far, but it’s been an unusually warm fall here in Illinois, so we’ll see.
I’ve been trying to root a crinkle 8 Hoya for over a year in water with leca. I haven’t gotten fore that a 1/4 inch long roots. I’m trying a carnosa Princess in sphagnum Moss and perlite. That’s working better. And I’m trying a findlaysonii resting on top of leca with the water not really touching the roots. This method is working pretty good. The findlaysonii is sprouting lots of little roots.
Hi 👋🏼 I took a few cuttings from my Mom's Carnosa Compacta and put them in ziplocs with perlite and I mist regularly. After 45 days I have small white roots forming, about half an inch long and the cuttings still are very healthy. My question is: when can I pot these up? How long should the little roots be? Any info you can offer would be much appreciated 🙂
Look at your multiple camera angles! Nice!! I have a Princess and some Curtsii props. I just ordered a Hoya Obovata from Steve’s Leaves that is arriving on Friday. I’m so excited. Do you put your Hoyas outside in the summer? I know you’re in NC and I’m wondering if I should plan on putting mine outside this coming summer (I’m in SC).
I noticed that the Hoya that you reported had a rather long slim vine. I was just gifted a Hoya, and I'm wondering if I should cut it back. From the last leaf, the vine is 2'9"" long.
Hi! I've got a small krimson queen. 12 leaves to be exact. It has been an incredibly slow grower. My question is that the newest growth (6 leaves) are pretty much pure white. Is there a chance they will start getting more green again or do I need to cut back to where there is more variation and hope that it puts out greener leaves?
Hi, I just recently started being interested in Hoya plants. I just bought a Hoya Bella, and I want to repot it from its nursery pot, so I want to use the right kind of soil mix for it. I heard a few people said they used Better Gro Special Orchid Potting Mix that they got from Lowe’s for their Hoya plants, and I was wondering if you know if I could use that potting mix for my Hoya Bella and if it would be good for it? If not, is there a soil mix that you can recommend that I could easily buy from the stores near me?
I have a question. not exactly hoyas but when you repot your plants to up- pot , do you mess with the roots that are root bound? i repotted like half my collection and i only lightly messed with rootbound roots they were mostly tight together on my calathea and my large golden pothos didnt want to do damage.
I got a Gift from a friend, there Hoya cuttings, no roots. So I put them in sphagnum. Is that ok? I don't want to plant them with no roots. Any suggestions?
You seem so far away from the camera it’s hard to see the plant that was root bond … so sorry to complain I just like it when your closer just my thought .. thank you for this info very helpful 😊
I received a hoya carnosa this fall in a 10" pot. It hasn't been repotted in years. Was going to repot it, chickened out after untangling it (6" plus long vines) and breaking two vines. Just top dressed it and decided to deal with it in the summer. Any advice?

I use repotme’s clear pots for all my aroids as well. Because I live in desert conditions, I use the ones without side slots. Love them. Great info.
Alway amazing content Ashley. I don’t have much Hoya but I will save this for future’s reference. Thanks 💚💚💚

I must know what the lime green Hoya to your left is called right next to the pot with the ceramic bow on it. I just love that neon one💚
Hoya Bella Variegata :)

Hi Ashly... do you own a regular green whalefin ?
How often are most people watering their Hoya Retusa?
What kind soil you using please
I got a Gift from a friend, there Hoya cuttings, no roots. So I put them in sphagnum. Is that ok? I don't want to plant them with no roots.
Any suggestions?
Sphagnum moss is great for cuttings! Just keep it moist but not soaking wet and in a medium/to high but not direct light :-)
I have my Hoyas in mostly Bark and small amount of soil. Is that ok?
Do you also have a discount code for the clear pots shown in this video?
I don't, but they do get a lot of sales!
Can I have them on air conditioner room ??
I am a bit worried about withholding water because I have been a victim of dry root rot
Please, how do I deal with fungi in Hoya؟
You seem so far away from the camera it’s hard to see the plant that was root bond … so sorry to complain I just like it when your closer just my thought .. thank you for this info very helpful 😊
