Ok guys. Let me clear a few things up. First of all i have been subbed to your channel for quite some time. I enjoy your vids and have left many positive comments. Heres my issue. I personally have been fishing that exact spot for over 30 years. IT HAS NEVER BEEN CROWDED. yes bird island pier is a known fishing spot. Im not a guy who thinks he owns the water. #1. D.E.C. gives very general reports about the 2 mile long pier. And has never pinpointed the spot you fished. Were not talking about an entire trib . Were talking about a 300 foot stretch of water that is productive for steelhead trout. There is no other spot on the entire pier that consistently holds steelhead. When you went to fish it ( for the first time ) you had it all to yourself. Thats because it is not widely known to lots of steelhead anglers. I guarantee you got a tip from someone and did not fish there because of information you got from the D.E.C. im certainly not telling you or any other anglers that you dont have the right to fish there. What i am strongly saying is on your first time fishing this tiny stretch of un pressured water. You had a successful day and shared it with hundreds of like mind anglers. If this particular spot was larger , no big deal. But its tiny. Us older anglers have put miles on our boots and countless days EARNING the fish we catch. No one before you has ever posted a video on social media pinpointing this tiny stretch. How can you state ( either you know it or you dont ) when you single handedly just informed hundreds of people . You made a bad choice to publicize this spot. AND YES IN THIS CASE YOU ABSOLUTELY BURNED THIS SPOT. Take responsibility and use discretion with the social media platform you produce. And i know your young so heres a tip when your wrong admit it.
It looks like when someone asks you which creek you are fishing in other vids you don’t answer them but you are willing to draw a map to this one because you barely fish it. I feel like you see it as a throwaway spot that you don’t mind sending to the wolves. Seems like a double standard to me. Also you know as well as I do (along with everybody else in Buffalo) that you primarily only catch sheepshead there most of the time, they got lucky and just happen to hit it on the right day when the steelhead happened to be staging there (which made for an awesome video).
