  • A lot of people were asking me how I improved so much, so I thought I would spill the SA(TEA) and share some of the tips that worked for me.
    Btw, I forgot to mention that all 8 practice tests from the College Board book are the same as the online practice tests in Khan Academy (which is free), so you don't need to buy it if you’re ok with not taking them on paper.

    0:50 - be commited - study after school, delete apps if necessary, be determined, don’t procrastinate.
    2:53 - be organized - plan out a monthly schedule ( when your gonna study and what your gonna do. ex- practice test every saturday )
    7:13 - books & app for the SAT

      do u have any tips for being a good test taker? I feel like I'm a hard worker but that doesn't reflect in my test scores because of my lack of test taking abilities and it's really brought me down the past year (freshman year of hs). I'd appreciate any advice!!🥰

    • @avawilkinson4296
      @avawilkinson4296 5 років тому +2

      Alisha Kalley One thing I do is learn the unique varieties of tests my teachers make. I feel like all my teachers have unique styles of testing such as the content and types of questions being asked such as contextual questions, application questions, etc.. Once you figure out how your teacher structures the tests you can study accordingly. For example, tests that are content and memorization based such as history class, I will create a quizlet with practically all the information in the unit and review and review. Math teachers tend to give out study guides practically identical to tests, so I make sure to understand every aspect and go in for questions beforehand if i’m confused. English tests for a book I will refresh my mind reading summaries on SparkNotes, Litcharts, and others. Overall, repetition of material through studying and being able to predict the test has helped me. I hope this makes sense since all schools are different... :)

    If you don’t know how to use google docs and want to use my google doc as a study template, just go to files and click make a copy.
    You do not need to request for editing access because that is to edit on the original and I want the original to stay the same.
    If you make a copy, it will be just your file and you can edit it anyway you want.
    I keep on getting emails from you guys requesting editing access, so please just make a copy. I made that option available.

      Warlock why is she immature you don’t have to necessarily ask for 1000 dollars it could be less than that or whatever your parents are willing to pay it could also be something like a new phone or camera or whatever just bc your parents aren’t willing to encourage you like that doesn’t mean that everyone’s parents arent willing to buy gifts or rewards for their children when they get good grades okay? Some parents would do things like that and it’s fine 1000 dollars is nothing compared to the time and effort and commitment she put in getting 1500 no one just gets that so easily not saying that she is the only one who can get this score just saying that you should ask for something from your parents even if it’s a trivial thing as an encouragement for you to study harder and if you don’t want to ask from them then don’t that’s also it’s just a reward for your hard work damn why y’all so hateful?

    • @limitlessvoid.7457
      @limitlessvoid.7457 4 роки тому +3

      @@rahafayoub9318 Hateful? I just said she was immature at that point of time. Why would i even need to hate her for? When you are annoyed at someone doesn't mean you hate that person dumbass. I also had a 1500+ sat score just to inform you in case you correlate my "hate" to her score. Great for her getting a good score. But just telling like "just ask ur parents for 1k" she said smth like that if im not wrong. And that is supposed to be mature? Come on. The point of immaturity is : she assumed everyone could get/afford 1k dollars. She should have said "ask your parents some money or things that you want". Ignorance is bliss i reckon. She surely was not aware of what she said, but correcting someone for the better in my dictionnary is not called hate. That's your call if you like ignorance too

    you see...my "how to get a 1500+ on the SAT" (imma' graduating senior btw who got two 1510's) would be basically use khan academy and use a 1993 ti-82 calculator on the math section and get an 800 'cause old calculators are liiiitttt XDXDXD...the video would be like a minute long and would literally help no one XD...but you gave some really good tips, and you're def ten billion times more dedicated than i was studying the SAT (i literally did one practice test on khan academy the night before the test at like 9-10 pm smh XD!). you definitely deserve the score you got, kelly :D!

      @Lamia Siddiqui hey :D! well, i always had a better time with math personally than the reading...that's just me at least. as for my sat prep schedule in general, i literally just used khan academy's prep (it helped me a TON). tbh i wasn't too dedicated like kelly in studying; i would do maybe a few questions every now and then. then, the night before the test, i crammed one whole sat practice test...including the writing portion...at 10 pm - 12 am in the morning XD! do not procrastinate like i did, but i believe achieving a score in the 1400's - 1500's is definitely possible with Khan Academy with enough effort! hope that helps 'ya! best of luck, i know you'll get that bread and do well ;D!!!

    Omg... Thank you SO MUCH for sharing, you are literally the best SAT prep guide ever.
    I am currently a sophomore with a score of around a 1320 and I really want to improve my score up to 1550 by March Junior year.
    I already have most of the books you listed but am not sure how I can start prepping. Also, I don't want to waste all practice tests since I have a year left.
    What would you recommend Kelly? Should I slowly go through the book and master each concept and cram the practice tests when I get closer to the test date? Or pace my study & practice test evenly throughout the year OR just cram it towards the end of the year?
    Your reply would be soooooo much help!

    • @kellycha
      @kellycha  5 років тому +18

      Rachel King I think what you do depends on how you learn. Some people work better when they cram, but others work better when they space everything out. I would start studying/ learning, using the books, and take a practice test maybe once a month and carefully review each question when you look over the answers. With a month or two left, you should only be reviewing, not learning, and taking practice tests every week. I think there will be enough tests (8 from college board, and the rest from reddit). Hope that helps! :)
