I was there last night-Trinity Baptist Church, Fairfield, Ct. And yes, of course, I, Thomas Karp, dipped the parslay (Karpas) in the salt water to commemorate the tears of the Jewish people; which reminds me: One of the leading spokespersons in England for Jews For Jesus is a woman named Helen Shapiro. She was a pop singer back in the early 60s; she had the first two No. 1 British pop hits recorded at Abbey Road studios; one of which is "Walking Back To Happiness". She then went on tour with The Beatles. She also recorded the original version of the song that launched Lesley Gore's (also Jewish) career: "It's My Party". There's a great photo of her, early 60s, at the BBC studios, dancing with John Lennon, a big smile on her face. She was with John and the other Beatles when they wrote many of their early major hits. They wrote one especially for her, but her manager (not Brian Epstein) rejected it: 'Misery'. Opening line: "I'm the type of guy who never used to cry..". Helen came to know Yeshua after reading Stan Telchin's book-'Betrayed'. As I understand it, she still appears on Christian radio in England. Wouldn't you have loved to have attended a Seder with her? I would. Last night, when you said that Yeshua would wipe every tear away upon His return; okay, I confess, I was tearing up.
Shalom, Mr. Glaser. You are scheduled to be at my church tonight to enact the Pesach Seder for my fellow congregants. In honor of the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet (aleph), I plan to remain silent. I don't want to be like one of the four brothers who asked a foolish question. So, I'll pose my two questions here: 1) I would still like to know if we should address you as 'Rabbi', 'Pastor', 'Reverend', or just Mr. Glaser? 2) The chametz. Why do the Jewish people buy it back after Pesach is concluded? It, for some reason, reminds me of when Yeshua told his apostles this: Matthew 12:43-45. Btw, at the very first Seder I ever attended, I was high on marijuana (I was a young hippie back in the day). I got into so much trouble over drugs later on; I credit Yeshua, Grace, and The Holy Spirit for the fact that I'm alive today! At that first Seder nobody bothered to explain to me what was going on: You don't smoke leafy greens beforehand; you save them to dip in the salt water! It's a crying shame that so many of us of Jewish heritage though we didn't need to be saved, and lived in exile from Abba, and His Son who came to save us! Amen.
