Thank you for posting this. I have seen photos of the class 44s but not any video of them at work. I hope they are proving to be good reliable locomotives.
Those 44Ds are really powerful Truly a marvel to see... Great to see that the maintenance of that section has improved Would have been nice to see footage from around Apiesdoring
@@steamfreak those locos are beast drivers ddnt report many faults, like the 18E's that are used in the Natcor channel and the rolling stock can manage all that chrome
Pleasingly loud for a modern diesel locomotive, the US locomotives with a GEVO engine are quieter. Some nice filming and editing, I look forward to more footage of the newer Spoornet and TFR classes.

They still seem to be working hard up there
Great video of the South African GEVOs. I love the locos and videography is great also. Cool horn.

Superb video! Great scenery too!
It's an amazing line. I must get back there...
Great video. Can't wait to capture them myself one day.
It's worth the drive up there!
How do they compare in pulling power to those wonderful steam locos.. the 25NCs and GMAM Garratts? I know which I prefer!
Not sure on the power, but I also prefer the steam locos!
Great camera work! (Now if those had been GO's!)
If only!
Beautiful view
It's an amazing place!
Do you know how long those locos are?
No, sorry I don't
A long train how many trucks how heavy that train
100t per wagon I think
Terrific catches/power! Just subscribed to you!
Thanks!
I was a TCO on this line from Belfast Lydenburg all the way to Steelpooort
Beautiful line, must be hard on the locos and rolling stock though?

I took a couple of pics of the new locos 5 years ago when I was driving from middleburg to tzaneen
+Patrick Malungani that's interesting. The 44 Class were only delivered less than 3 years ago...
I m not sure of the class but it was different from the usual class 34/35. Maybe it was the class 43. I was at the line just before Orihgstad

Why so many locomotives
Very steep grades and sharp curves need a lot of power!
How fast is the train going?
Sloooowwww!
Nice camera angles
Thanks!
Lovely I am a railway fanatic
