Hi Angela. It’s good to see you and hear you. I know I could not remember how to do this if I didn’t have it in my favorites. I’m very thankful that you did this on video. I love the cover. It’s beautiful and chunky. You are the best on UA-cam doing journals. I’ve said it before and I will keep saying it. I love the way you teach us. I might have to snitch this one from you.😂😂😂. Mine will never look this beautiful. Thank you for all you do for us. Take care of yourself and I’ll see you next time. Love Judy O. 💝💖💓❤️😘🥰😍😁
My husband was so in awe on how you sewed your signatures in. I absolutely loved how you showed the step by step process. (You are such a wonderful teacher 😉) Thank you for getting my husband on board with my craft. Did I tell you he bought me an over the bed table that expands and lifts to the hight you need? It fits over my recliner so I can keep my feet up. (I am disabled). I have been crafting so much more since he got it for me🙃🙂😁 Thank you for being the inspiration you are!🌹⚘️🥰✂️✉️🪡🧵⚘️🌹
Thank you for your demo on sewing your signatures in. I am m absolutely terrible at sewing them in. You make it look so easy. I do like the hidden hinge best. Going to try that with my next journal. Hugs and smiles!
Great tutorial Angela. That's my favourite way of sewing in signatures. I do mine a little different in that I have the thread finishing at the back to tie off. That way I don't have any tassels showing. I'm glad I'm not the only one that struggles to get the needle through. I do find it very satisfying though, as all the hard work is finally coming together. Thank you so much in sharing this. Looking forward to the flip through. 😊👏💜
Hi Angela!! Thank you, once again, for showing your technique of how you sew signatures in!! It's looking beautiful so far and can't wait for the flip through!! TFS my friend!! Hugs, Liz:)
I don't think people realise how much work goes into this part of making a journal. A lot of skill and many hours of practice!! ( well, journal makers will be holding their breath with you lol )
I loved watching this for all the tips 👍❤️ I'm so impressed with the poky tool going through all those layers of paper with such ease! And using the ruler to press all the pages down in the centre, what a great idea. I use wooden clothes pegs as clips as I've mislaid my plastic clips, they have a good reach if you've got smaller pages included. Definitely going to try a hidden spine next time. Thankyou Angela for a great video! 👍
O…M…G…. This is THE most beautiful work of art I’ve ever seen. A thousand thank you’s Angela for showing this tutorial. I have the most difficult time sewing in signatures. I’ve just finished my purple passion mini journal and it took me a day and a half to sew in the one signature and it still looks wonky! I blame the arthritic fingers and poor eyesight. Lol. I must have at least 6 books I’ve finished waiting for them to be sewn in. Thank you so much for the darning needle tip I would never have thought I’d doing that to the eye. I’m nearly finished my THTH journal ready for sewing so you’ll probably hear the bad language all the way to Worcester!!! You never cease to amaze me. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work of art. Hugs and procrastinations this end! 💖😘🤗🌸🌺🐝🦋😂
Hello Angela, thanks for doing the 5 hole pamphlet stitch, I have only done the 3. I enjoyed watching you do this. Will look forward to the flip of this gorgeous journal. Have a lovely weekend.
I like the 5 hole template method. All my journals up to now have been 3 hole. This looks like a much better and sturdier option. I decorate my page first, too, so my journals are all gator mouth. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Thank you for this tutorial, I could never see enough of these. Looking forward to Sunday’s flip through. I’m going to craft all weekend and mess my house all up lol enjoy your weekend my sweet friend 🐰💜🌺💗🌸💐
Ty so much for showing how you sew in your signatures, Angela. Can’t wait to see the flip through on Sunday. It is already a gorgeous journal! You take care in this heat as well. Xxx Have a fab weekend. Xxx
You are so welcome! I am pleased you enjoyed it, Maggie. Thank you! I am much cooler today. So happy about that too. Stay safe and sound, Lovely. Hugs and smiles 🌸🌷☺️💗🦋🎀
Hi Angela, absolutely great tutorial, I love the template you made it certainly makes it easier for placement of the holes.Stunning journal and some of my very fav colours too and I love the fabric you chose for the cover just beautiful... Thank you so much for another wonderful tutorial.....💜💜💜
Thanks Angela, I bought clips & learned the spine template for the hole placement from you & the foam block is helpful. My Happy Hollidays Journal is a Super Chunk😉💚🦋🐶Still on Autumn Lustre.
Hi from Texas, where we are having extremely high temps as well. I have done many 3 hole pamphlet stitches, but never a 5 hole. Thank you so much for your tutorial and learning to do something new.
Thank you for showing us this, your journal looks beautiful, look forward to the flip through tomorrow. I have everything to bind mine, I will see if it turns out as lovely as yours. Take care in the heat.
Hello Angela, Thank you for your very interesting videos! Your journals are beautiful and as I am very new at this crafting situation I am looking at many peoples work and you are a real inspiration to me........Thank you, looking forward to many more tips and tricks from you.💖
Hello Dianne! A very warm welcome to my channel. Thank you so much for your lovely message. So pleased to hear that you are looking into journaling as a hobby. So pleased to have inspired you. May you continue to feel inspired. If you have any questions, just ask. I am happy to help. Hugs and smiles 🌸🌷💗☺️🦋🎀
Hello Angela, I was just thinking about you, but I have to be honest and say that I had forgot today was Friday. Hopefully soon I'll get to fill you in on my week. This definitely sounds interesting to me. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
I just love this journal. The whole shebang. The kit is just beautiful and all the little bits that go with it. Thank you for sharing this. This will help me so very much when I go to sew it in. Is there anyone just in future for you to show how you do everything from cover to cover? The closers, adding the little extras? I’m not sure how everyone else is but to me more information ℹ️ the better and I’m a visual learner so seeing everything helps me. I hope you have a blessed and relaxing weekend 💜
So pleased you love this journal, Josie. Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments. I have tried to include absolutely everything I can think of. I just leave off the basic things. Perhaps I can do more with the current journal. I will see what I can do. Hugs and smiles 🌼🦋☺️🌷🌸💗
I was holding my breath half the time as you hunted for the holes 😊. I’ve never tried the 5 hole stitch. In my second go with sewing in signatures, I took all of the tags out…they had kept falling halfway out anyway! It made it a little bit easier to manage though. Really looking forward to this flip through. It’s already beautiful!
I used this method on my Down in the Garden second journal worked really well. I did remove as much of the items as I could made it a little easier for me.
Hello Angela! I always have trouble putting in my signatures. I do have some help by using a book cradle from CraftyCatUSA. I’ve never done a 5 hole pamphlet stitch and I found it very interesting to learn. I also learned to use my needle by putting it back through the holes to carefully line it up. Thank you for showing us your method. It helped me a great deal. Hugs❤️
I forgot about the cradle. It is beneficial to have some help in that way. I must see what I can do for myself here in the UK. I don't thing they ship here. So pleased you enjoyed the video and found it interesting. Thank you so much for your tips and for watching, Gloria! Hugs and smiles 🌸🌷☺️💗🦋🎀
Thank you so much for those amazing compliments!! So pleased you have found this video useful and that is so kind of you to compliment my shirt. ☺️💗🌸🌷🦋
Yes, gluing in the hidden spine, my least favorite task. 😉One last step I do when my signatures are generously sized is to place the journal, spine side down, inside a deep-sided box so it dries with the weight of the signature papers holding it in place. I leave it in that position overnight as an assurance that the cardstock affixes well to my chipboard and does not warp. Thanks for sharing your method.
I'm curious, would a 2 & 1/2" spine work for a two signature journal if it wasn't embellished too much? Oh, and by the way, I love your shirt, it's so very pretty and Yes, just a touch of pink for you Angela. Take care 💖. Becky B
I think it would work with just less embellishments. I have used that width before. Thank you so much for your kind compliments Becky. It is so kind of you to notice my shirt. I thought it worked with the lilac and the wildflower colour scheme. Haha. Stay safe and sound, dear friend. Hugs and smiles 🌼🦋☺️🌷🌸💗
