Hi, it has the standard 200PL from Manfrotto but since we do not have any Arca plates in the store right now we are unable to test it, Manfrotto stated it should fit them too but we are unable to confirm it.
4:05 I think you do not have to press Manfrotto release mechanism when you put the camera with 200PL plate onto, because it is the quick release (and fixed) idea. Just down press the camera a bit and it will lock and firmed.
You are welcome! Oh, but Manfrotto's quick release has a problem that if the lever is not return to (real) lock position, it mean the plate is not in right position and can be fell off. So maybe your way is the best way to make sure it does lock every time.
@criostoirocuinn this head comes in two packages one which is in the video and another with the Arca Swiss mount for no extra cost, this I like for the use with my L brackets.
I have had the older vesion for around 6 years now.. Its well built and reliable piece of gear. But the thing i hate about it is the clamp itself.. Its so proprietary that getting to go along with other gear is next to impossible. Peakdesign sent me a plate which kinda fits this and it never is a snug fit as the the normal manfrotto plates. No L bracket as well! But if you dont plan to use any of these.. this is a good ball head.. ( Time to change it to an arca-swiss standard head )
I bought both these items. I like your video. Question? When I release the camera from the ball head it's a bit tight getting it off. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Jules! Try not to force the locking mechanism too much. Also, keep in mind that this needs to be tight enough to hold the camera and don't let it "wobble".
Digital Goja perfect! Im between this one and Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W X-PRO 3-Way Head with Retractable Levers and Friction Controls. Which one would be better for still photography? Both horizontal and vertical pictures.
Hello, Rohit Prakash. If you are referring to the Altura Photo Rapidfire Sling Strap, we would recommend removing that when adapting the lens to the ball head. Also, we would recommend checking out Manfrotto's MHXPRO-BHQ6 instead of the BHQ2 version as the Tamron 150-600 G2 lens has an "Arca Style" tripod foot. This would allow you to mount the foot into arca style clamp without using a plate. You can check out our video on this head here: ua-cam.com/video/-n4Q5jNRhkI/v-deo.html&vl=en. Thanks for watching!

Hi Izzy. I was just wondering if on this ball head, is it possible to attach the peak design slide strap anchors to the plate? Or do I have to change out the plate on my camera every time I want to go from tripod to my strap?
I just got mine in the mail today! I need a .055 plate to attach onto my BeFree Carbon Fiber Tripod. Is that the actual part number? I could screw it on without the plate but the 200PL is much larger than the original plate for the BeFree.
Digital Goja hi & thank you! After studying it last night I just screwed the XPRo onto the bolt that my other head was attached to. It hangs over a bit and I’m not 💯 comfortable with it like this.
You're welcome Robert Howard. Yeah, the MHXPRO is meant for tripods like the 055 or 190 series but share the 3/8th thread. If you plan to use it on the BeFree, keep an eye out for the head possibly unscrewing from the base. Take care.
I can't unscrew the same type of ball head from the same tripod model! My male friends tried, they can't unscrew it either. I need to put a new ball head. Help! :)
Hi Loreta. If you are still having trouble removing the head from your tripod, I suggest looking underneath the mounting base on the tripod. There you will find a set screw used to keep the head from rotating off the tripod. Now, in order to remove the head, you will need to loosen that screw up using a flat head screwdriver.
@@DigitalGojaUSA I finally managed to unscrew the head after Wex Photo salesman advised to tighten the knobs on the head first!!!! None of the youtube vloggers pinpointed that (I found at least three videos). The head came off with ease!!!
Hi. Thanks you very much for the review, help a lot.... Do you know if the manfrotto 200pl pro plate fit in this head? Or only fit in the new manfrotto 496??. Thanks!
Hi, I have the MHXPRO-BHQ2 head. The panoramic seems to be on a thread. so when I spin the camera 1/4 rotation. the thread lossens and head is the wobbly. Is this supposed to happen. I was hoping for a smooth panoramic rotation as were using this with a 600mm for surf photography
What is the difference between thus and the manfrotto 496 rc2 ball head with 200pl-14 quick release plate ? And what are the uses if 360 rotation and is it a feature that would make me buy the xpro ball head ?
Hi, this ball head from the video has a bigger load capacity, up to 22lb while the 496RC2 can support up to 13lb, also it has 2 bubble levels, an independent pan lock and better build quality as it is made from magnesium, compared to aluminum on the other ball head.
Hi guys! I was just wondering if this head comes with 1/4 thread too? Like an adapter or something? I have legs at the moment that use 1/4 and i want to buy this head first and then legs later on when i can afford them.
Thank you good sir!
Thank you!
This appears to have the standard Manfrotto 200PL that captures the sides of the plates, the Arca-Types are open on the ends.

What a legend !!

We think always safety first, and of course we do not want any broken equipment.
Love the new intro, super cool!

Great to hear that Andrea!

I have ordered this exact model! Getting this in tomorrow :-D
Nice clip. Ordered it thanks... what's that tripod ? I have a befree, but that's a medium weight one ? Model number, please ?
Thanks Roland. We were using the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 4-section tripod.

Hi, it should fit an L-bracket.

It should work for medium format too.

Unfortunately, we do not ship any Manfrotto products to India.
Will this fit the standard Arca-Type dovetail mount L-Plates commonly seen on cameras?
Yes it will!
Arca Swiss L-brackets will not work with this. The X-Pro BHQ6 is supposed to be Arca Swiss compatible, but I've read that it is pretty iffy.
