We’re they always this ridiculous? YES! while they have a few more serious songs such as Toy, most like Her, Nilili Mambo, and Shall we dance are just as ridiculous. They are worth checking out. To prove their chaos, the end of Nilili Mambo has some super sped up squeaky voices as they get mad at each other for wrecking a kind of poorly put together heist and when someone slowed it down to figure out what it was they found it was a noodles recipe

"Very Good" MV is just like a parody of MV concepts and that's why I love Block B. Block B is known for their zany MVs and songs. You picked out Zico right. Taeil is the one with the fork haha. He is an amazing vocalist and he is weird so it's fitting. P.O. you will see all over variety shows. Zico has his own company KOZ so that he could have more control over his solo stuff but when he joined the military he allowed the group to be purchased by Big Hit so now it's a subsidiary of HYBE. But both Zico and Block B members have repeatedly said that he is still a part of Block B and they plan to continue to do more music once the members have finished their service. They were originally under Stardom but they filed a suit against them for not getting paid, the court ruled for the company (although the CEO committed suicide so that may show some guilt on his part), Block B had their contract transferred to Seven Seasons. Seven Seasons is a subsidiary of KQ. Seven Seasons is just for Block B.
Seven seasons actually changed it's name to KQ, it's the same company, otherwise, all correct!~
Edit: just make it clear that it's part of the >company< that was bought by Hybe and not the group, this may cause confusion
Block B are like ATEEZ's only company seniors, in the recent ATEEZ episode of AMAZING SATURDAY where the Block B member P.O. is a fixed cast member, Wooyung talked about he came to their Debut Showcase and always gives them advice and stuff!
You should definitely check out Zico’s solo song “Any song” it’s one of my fav kpop songs of all time. It’s iconic

Very Good probably sounds familiar to you because that’s the song from Pentagon’s first stage on Road to Kingdom.
If I had to describe Block B’s vibe I would say unapologetic fun and wild. Nilili Mambo is my favorite song by them, and they have such classic bops like Her, Yesterday, Toy, Nalina…
Every time a group puts out something that smacks of Block B, it makes me giddy -- kpop is missing their energy. HER is in my personal probably top ten favorite songs of anyone list???? As others have said, NalinA and Nilili Mambo are a couple other iconic classics, and Toy, Shall We Dance, and Yesterday round out my recommendations. And then there's the wild subunit Block B Bastarz with Zero for Conduct ... a PARTY. And Zico's solo discography is HUGELY varied and genius at every turn.
taeil has the sweetest vocals but also the most tattoos of any idol
"Very Good" is such a classic! (Ateez like to cover it, there are vids floating around!) + If you're thinking of a group of guys turning around so that RV can board a bus in short skirts without worrying about flashing anyone- that was indeed BTOB! On the show "We Got Married" where Sungjae from BTOB entered a reality TV marriage with RVs Joy (and BTOB- RV shenanigans ensue!)

I’m so glad you started to look into Block B. They were one of my fav groups when I started really getting into kpop. There is a running joke that Block B usually commit some type of crime in their MVs. They stood out even back then. The world of kpop thought they were a bit odd too. But they have such catchy songs. Gotta appreciate How interesting their style is.

Yesss the rapper who is shown a lot is indeed THE ZICO, that you’ve heard about and he is a MUSICAL GENIUS and all-round artist!! He is well known and respected in both SKOREA and international.
ahh man BLOCK B…they’re so unique, refreshing, quirky, and FUN! But they’re also so versatile and talented. All members have done solos as well as sub-units and had good success doing it. They have a diverse discography! Their ballads and mid-tempos heck their b-side songs are just as amazing as their title tracks.
You should really check out ZICO’s solos as well as his collabs with other artists. He also composed/produced lot of songs for other artists as well. When we say that ZICO did everything and was EVERYWHERE before enlisted..is FACTS! I feel that’s what we’re totally missing right now..BLOCK B/ZICO music.

block b was the group that got me into kpop hahaha i loved how goofy and different they were. their serious tracks like toy are great too. glad you checked them out 🥰
YESS!!! BLOCK B is amazing! I love them so much. Thank you for checking them out and having fun! Zico is absolutely the main one that you pointed out, he raps and has a gorgeous singing voice. You should totally check out some more of their super fun songs, NalinA, Nillili Mambo and HER. If you want a more serious song of theirs then I recommend Be the Light.
They had a serious legal/pay dispute with their original company, left and then reformed.
Block B does not make any sense, and that is why they are so beloved and iconic. They pioneered the idea of idols having actual fun with their music and MVs and the like, broke a lot of unwritten rules about how idols should act, and were unapologetically themselves while staying cool. Their fandom, BBCs (Honeybees) is also one of the kindest fandoms in kpop, small and dedicated and just as weird and wonderful as the group. I will recommend Nillili Mambo, because it's my favourite song and because the entire idea is genius (and was the only idol song with a pirate concept until ATEEZ happened!!!).
Zico said in an interview once that Jackpot was inspired by David Lee Roth's Just A Gigolo. If you watch the video for that you'll see where some of the inspiration for the Jackpot mv came from.
4:05 that's truly Block B and Block B MVs in a nutshell (for the most part)!! there's so much good music from them to tap into and if anyone recommends more, I'm looking forward to see what you think!! so fun and such great artists
If you want to hear a slower, more chill song by Block b, I'd definitely recommend Toy. It's so beautiful and such a cool contrast to their more fun and intense releases. Also, Block has a subunit called blockb bastarz that has some intense hard hitting title tracks, but also many suave and jazz/rnb influenced bsides that I would definitely recommend.

i love block b and i could talk about them forever. they were originally under stardom but left because they weren’t being paid. Seven Seasons was a company created just for them and when the company wanted to bring in more artists they changed the name to KQ. they’re still a group but right now the members are going through their mandatory military services (actually most have gone and finished) zico left the company in 2019(?) and p.o. just left the company last month. i believe in the past they’ve said that once they’re all done with their service they’ll have a comeback but i don’t know if that still stands.
I’ve had the fortune to see them live in concert in Milan: they’re INSANE! I love them so much! 🐝🖤💛
They have a lot of beautiful ballads in their discography too.

block b are really iconic for their weird fun concept, they debuted at kq when kq was nothing (kq wasnt even the name of the company), and they made their name with a lot of hard work. for other songs by them i recommend nalina, yesterday and shall we dance, you probably heard a snippet of them before as most bb songs goes viral.
zico is one of the biggest khiphop artist (he definitely helped breaking the idol prejudice in the industry) and he served as a smtm judge already. for his own songs anything works; any song went viral (the song is called anysong) and he is part of a crew called fanxychild with a lot of other big BIG hiphop rnb artist (aka dean, crush, penomeco and millic)
p.o, u-kwon and b-bom are part of the subunit bastarz and their music SLAY
Yeah, this is where Zico debuted and became famous, and you should definitely check out his solo stuff, Block B is still one of my favorite groups, and them being completely ridiculous in the best way and never taking themselves too serious is why they were famous since almost their debut, also having some of the most talented members at the time didn’t hurt, but while being popular they had several problems with their company and changed company at least 3 times, Zico left the group for more freedom around the time they became affiliated with KQ, and then they all started to do their mandatory military service and their fan base took a severe hit with all of this, their last comeback with all original members was for the song Shall We Dance? Around this time their main dancer U-Kwon was on the dancing show Hit the Stage like Ten and Taemin, and there’s also a rock version of Very Good and that’s what Enhyphen did a cover of recently, also the clip of Soobin talking over a song going “Bye guys, Hi ladies…” is Zico in the beginning of the Block B song Nillili Mambo

Very Good is the song Pentagon performed in Road to Kingdom! It's the round where hongseok was tied showing abs, if u remember that stage. Well about u mentioned Block B being so eccentric, IT IS VERY ACCURATE cus i keep looking for another boygroup that would sound/have concept like them but there's no other group like them:( i miss their weird songs
I love how 2nd gen groups didn't shy away from experimenting with "weird" and fun concepts, like 2NE1 or Big Bang too. It was so charismatic! I already knew it, but I've listened to Very Good so many times again when Pentagon covered it on Road to Kingdom.

Block B came in loud back in the 2nd gen. days. Definitely check out ZICO's solo work at some point. His "Random Box" EP is the best Rap/Hip Hop release in K-Pop right now outside the Korean underground scene. P.O. has a great career in acting and as a T.V. personality, but I wished he maintained his music career more often. MEN'z NIGHT and coincidentally his natural singing voice had all the tasty James Brown funk 👌🏼
So for reference, they’re on hiatus due to enlistments! Currently Taeil, Jaehyo, B-Bomb and U-Kwon are all done with enlistments, Zico and Kyung are still serving, and PO has yet to enlist. They’ve promised more music when they’re done with enlistments, even as recently as their 10-year debut anniversary. They’re definitely one of the most fun and iconic groups out there. They’ve inspired some of the top 4th Gen idols right now- Han Jisung of Stray Kids and Yeonjun and Soobin of TXT are all huge fans, among many others!
Edit to add: Jackpot is a cynical critique of fame, human greed, and the idol industry all packaged up like a fun clown show. Aka literally my favorite song of all time. I could go on about it for days.
When Zico does his first rap you will always know. He announces it. He will state Z I Co before he raps.
Fun fact block b are taking break but they are not disbanding after they have been through they said they are not breaking up
Taeil (knife and fork guy) is an amazing singer, he was one of the best in kpop at that time. If you want to watch another crazy MV 'Her' is great. One of their most popular songs in Korea is 'Toy' and is a much different vibe but the MV also has a cool concept. But I do hope you check out some of Zico's rap! He's probably the most skilled rapper in kpop.

They are still together but they’re currently going through military services, the maknae P.O. will be enlisting soon so they got a couple more years before they release anything as a group. Some have solo stuff and have been doing their own thing until they’re done with their services

they're still a group but they are on military hiatus, P.O is enlisting in december, he's the only one left. Zico has left Seven Seasons(KQ) to set up his own label, and P.O just left on october 1st too.

I’m so glad you’ve checked out Block B! I was actually going to request these eventually if nobody else had. They’re one of the most creative and charismatic groups in Kpop, and it’s such a shame they haven’t really done anything in a while. You’d or probably love their songs Nalina and Nillili Mambo, and also their sub Unit Block B Bastarz.
Also just a note, it WAS Btob with Red Velvet on the bus!! It was back when Sungjae and Joy were paired on the reality show We Got Married.

I'm so glad you're getting a bit of Block B!!!! They went through some real controversy not long after they debuted and it was a mess. Someone mistranslated something and Block B got all this hate from the international community that they didn't deserve. I remember having so much anxiety over it. They came back stronger than ever and were one of the top groups in 3rd gen! They're still pretty popular too, I think. Dalmatian also had some quirky videos. They're disbanded now but maybe I'll add a couple of theirs to my ever growing list of stuff to request and throw them in there sometime lol.

Hahaha block b are a very successful and influential group, alot of groups now are doing things that block b started. They are known as the dark horses of kpop for a reason lmao, and their mvs are mostly out of the box like these two
They’ll comeback late next year, they’re currently doing solo activities because the members are enlisted in the mandatory military service.
They’re directly under kqent, it was practically made for them by some employees of their old shitty company (not that kq is better tbh).. 7 seasons is kqs old name lol its not a subsidiary.
