Salute to our senior minister and ex-PM of Singapore. He is fluent in English and Mandarin. He is knowledgeable of economic, geopolitics, etc.
Singapore younger generation of Chinese must make an effort to study their mother tongue language, Mandarin, besides fluency in English. They would appreciate the Chinese culture and civilisation. To be able to communicate well in Mandarin and English, the Singaporeans would have a great future ahead to trade with China and the rest of the world.

Singapore has done well in reaping economic benefits trading with China and has steadfastly upheld and safeguarded its national sovereignty and security, positioning itself geopolitically as a force for good to defend and uphold rules-based international order, without being coerced by Chinese economic pie. Well done Singapore. 🇸🇬 👏💪👍

India is NOT the issue here.......pls stick to PRC & SGP's involvement in SIP, which to me has been a FAILURE for reasons unforeseen by SGP, even though SGP had to give up control to PRC with SGP holding only 1/3 of the equity from 2/3...............that's just one eg of the propaganda LHL has been spewing about "LONG TERM",,,,,,,,,,,,the SIP experience CLEARLY shows the falsehood of SGP;s investments in PRC from which it cannot extract itself................so dun B/S about LHL incompetence.

There is elephant in the room majority can't speak about openly.
Certain race leads the world for centuries, and form an opinion there can never be other race who has the same or even higher talent, dynamic, innovative and competitive thought. Some even thought it is just how the world must be, hence the "unwritten rules based order" comes about.

You guys should know China lacks water. Climate change and extreme weather events exacerbated the lack of water in many countries and it will one day become a problem for China. So don’t think you can hide in some village and the problem will go away. The last time I heard the Chinese government made sure that the first tier cities like Shanghai secure their water resources while many small villages were left to fend for themselves with the dwindling water supply. That’s how water allocation will be like in bad times so I hope you will not be naive about thinking that staying in villages is the best option.

Sr. Min. Lee's responses and articulation of the realities is precise and accurate from my view point.
Salami slicing strategy has eroded trust.
    IP theft has eroded trust
Intimidating smaller countries has eroded trust
One-way market access has eroded trust.
Other than that the CCP is doing the right things. The key word is 'restraint' something that CN's large western neighbour and equally large power-in-the making has demonstrated for generation even while being violated by brutish arab armies in pre-contemporary history making it a far more reslient society. Something that CN never had to face.

While national security and politics are important, economic and social growth and reform remain 硬道理。 Without a strong economy and cohesive society (not through censoring speech and stiffening views, but sensible laws and unbias implementation), China can never become strong. @@ongdavid4896 Oh, so you’re wondering who gets to be the international referee, huh? It’s like having a football match where only the referee’s team gets to make the rules-yellow card, red card, and suddenly someone introduces handball just because they feel like it. Classic!
But let’s break it down. The “International Order” is like an unwritten set of house rules for global politics, where the players (countries) agree not to throw food at each other during dinner-unless someone’s being a real pain. Historically, yes, it’s been shaped by a handful of powerful Western countries because, well, they managed to grab the world’s remote control first. It’s like when your cousin has the PlayStation controller and refuses to let you change the game, even though you paid for the pizza.
Now, our friend here is raising a solid point: why do less than 20 countries get to decide the rules for the whole planet? With 194 countries, it’s a bit like having a family reunion where only your stingy uncle and chatty auntie decide the dinner menu. Where’s the input from the rest of the family? What about the vegetarian cousin or the aunt who loves spicy food?
In theory, the international order should be more inclusive, right? But as it stands, the countries holding the biggest economic, military, and political sway-kind of like the oldest kids on the playground-are the ones calling the shots. Yet, just like in every family, the smaller voices are getting louder, asking for their turn to speak up.
So, maybe it’s time for the international order to be a bit more like a buffet where everyone gets a say, and not just the people hogging the dessert station.

Mr. LHL speaks like a representative of the US, and other Western countries.
People like him and some overseas Chinese, especially from Hong Kong and Singapore who still have the Colonial Mindsets seeped deep into their minds find it fair that we Chinese should always get the shorter end of the stick to please their Colonial masters.
When they are privately among the Chinese they will appear to be more vocal against the Westerners, but in public they will say just the opposite.
It is sad to say that people like them are the one who have held us back in advancing and competing with the Western Imperialists.

Look at how the CCP is handling the 9 dash line issue. That is just a glimpse of what a CCP world order would look like. When DXP came to Singapore to learn and went back to China to establish the SEZ, everyone was happy to see the progress. But now with the power and wealth, the CCP is trying to play punk with various territories. Only goes to show that if the CCP becomes too big it will become an oppressive neighbour. See Tibet and Xinjiang for example

One point to note is also the debt trap that the CCP has offered the 3rd world countries. Lending other poorer countries with huge amount of amount knowing they are unable to repay and also using their Chinese companies/workers to build the infrastructure, and eventually taking over the region or project cuz the other countries won’t be able to settle their debts
