I completely forgot Askeladd already mentioned he's a Roman descendant this early in the story. This episode still hits different no matter how many times you watch it, just phenomenal

@Mazuyak I understand lol. I was frustrated with him as well, honestly in the first season thorfinn felt like a side character with no development at all. Askechad was the man who carried the show lol. But yeah in s2 thorfinn will get a lot of development your thoughts on him will change for sure xD
I mean the second they fell into that trap they were in checkmate just because they had the whole pass covered with archers meaning regardless of what Thors did they could easily just kill everybody in the two ships and no one could do anything about it. That's why Thors had to force that duel and come to an agreement with Askeladd because otherwise everyone would've just died once Askeladd ordered it
Thors doesn't have a choice, askellad was serious of making him leader but thors think that floki might frame him for some conspiracy to the king making him the enemy and even attacking Iceland that's why he sacrifice his life
I think askeladd wasn’t joking when he was asking thors to become their leider. But because thors didn’t react he said he was joking to not lose face in front of his men.
I think the same, when askeladd hits Ari he tells him that Thors was worth more than any stupid kid like him.
No he wasn't.. whenever he say "just joking" he isnt
he wasnt. But because Thors would never agree to that, the backed out.
