    Holden HQ Monaro 1971- 1974 all the same.Holden spent so much money on an all new design that there was nothing left for remodelling for years, luckily( but slowly )sales took hold and the cars were excepted eventually. At the end of a 4 year model run almost half a million cars were made over 7 variations (Sedan , Coupe , Wagon , Utility , Panel van , Cab chassis tray back truck and a long wheel base luxury sedan)

    This car is sweet. I've ordered one. I grew up with Holdens as my father was an enthusiast. We had a Monaro, a Premiere, a Kingswood and some station wagon which I can't remember the model of. So I was stoked when a Monaro was featured so prominently at the beginning of Mad Max, even if it did go out in a blaze of fiery glory :)

      @@PrinceofMacedonVlogs New Zealand, so a hop, skip and a jump away from Oz (well, a really big jump, anyway). Holdens and Fords were the closest thing we had to 'muscle' back in the day, and if an American-made muscle car showed up on our streets people would flock around it to get a closer look due to their rarity. Of course, nowadays its a bit more common to see cars from all over the world here, but yeah, when I was growing up it was all about the Fords and Holdens! :)

      @@hadlee73 Australian cars are still pretty rare here in the US. I happened to catch a Chevy SS (a rebadged Commodore) out in the wild once near Disney, and I knew I was in the presence of greatness

      @@PrinceofMacedonVlogs Yes, as I understand it the Holden brand has been officially retired due to declining sales in Australia. If you spot something now that looks like a Holden, its more likely to be a Chevrolet. Saying that, it'll still be possible to watch them for awhile longer in the Supercar Championship in Australia and New Zealand because the Holden Commodore ZBs being used are all from 2018-2022 production lines.

    Holden (General Motors) built the pursuits, Ford built the interceptors. Both were to try get the government (Police) market.

      Ps. The front bumper bar is correct, that is where the number plate is fitted. Your model is based on the GTS version, eg the fluts in the gards
      where as the Mad Max car is just the stock standard monaro. The dash in your model is the GTS, the Max Car has the standard dash, the same as the different steering wheel. But the seat winders are not correct as your model's are from 75-77 cars. And the real cars only had door mirrors on the drivers side.

    I got one of these as well..it took a while to get it from Australia..im pretty sure this model is based on a replica of the night rider car..and they used monaro bodies that are already beong made and greenlight just added features from the movie on them..

  • @ck552

    I've always liked the Mad Max Monaro as well. I wonder, what was the deal with the giant hood scoop? I know in reality, the car had just a stock engine, but as far as make believe movie stuff, were we to assume it housed a supercharger under the scoop? It was a pursuit special after all.
    There's been several Mad Max Falcon XB replicas built, but as far as I know, only 1 or 2 of the Mad Max Monaro replicas made.

    Hi there, I'm from New Zealand, Sometime today if not tomorrow I should be receiving from DiecastGOLD in Australia a limited edition resin 1/18 custom damaged MFP nightrider HQ Monaro model #243 out of 1800 made world wide. It will be a perfect companion for the 1/18 black AUTOart interceptor, yellow MFP interceptor and the Big Bopper MFP pursuit vehicle. Hopefully toward the end of this year the 1/18 MFP March hare interceptor will be released.

    So freaking awesome!!! I wanna get these but they are so expensive. I love the monaros they were Australia's Chevelle. Its funny this monaro and scarse and scuttles cars were actually 6cyl cars. They took the monaro out and ran it up against guardrails and other stationary objects before filming to give it the look it had. Theres a real 1 to 1 replica for sale now on Madmaxcars. If i ever get a large amount of money one day the first thing im buying Is a XB Falcon, and a Monaro GTS .

    • @PrinceofMacedonVlogs
      @PrinceofMacedonVlogs  4 роки тому

      This is the cheaper 1/24 version. They do have the 1/18 version but because it was so limited, it's nearly impossible to find for an affordable price. I would've loved banging up the Monaro! They really trashed that thing lol Good luck finding the book. I hope you can find it for a good price. A lot of people know that Mad Max collectors are hunting for this book so they usually jack the price up on it

      @@PrinceofMacedonVlogs i actually must be one of the only ones who like it.lol. i feel the timeline all falls together perfectly from the way the vehicle's are getting rattier because they are cobbled skeletons of their former self being built and rebuilt. Even Maxs trusty leather jacket shows the wear from the previous battles scars from the road warrior. It was more believable considering the further the years from the "pox eclipse" the less things from before that time remain and if they do they are highly worn out
