I'm pretty sure there are **certain** policies that allow that. But especially on a incident where it can escalate quickly, they need to step out in a snap.
@@Cyedae However, flying through traffic at 40-50 mph without a seatbelt is highly dangerous. They are supposed to wear a seatbelt. Everyone needs to follow the law… even law enforcement officers.
It's a bad habit among LEO's but it happens. When you're jumping in your cruiser to respond code 3 it isn't usually top of mind. Not only that, but body armour prevents you from feeling the seatbelt so often times you'll attempt to get out the car with the seatbelt still on.
@@DucksterAviation However, Majority of Law Enforcement agencies have specific state laws that exempt them from certain vehicle and traffic regulations while in the duties of their job. If you dont like it, Write to your local legislator.

Imagine that, responding code 3 to an accident with injuries without your seatbelt on…smh
