Never got to play X back on the Wii U. I had the white basic model of the Wii U and therefore didn't have anywhere near the necessary memory space to be able to play it. Now though with this Definitive Edition I can finally experience this game.
Actually think all Xenoblade games are worth it to play through twice, simply because you can more easily tackle the optional content on a second playthrough.
Yoooo, My first Xenoblade game was Xenoblade Chronicles X as well! it's definitely what got me into the series as well! I'm super happy we getting it on switch, I hope they make the online easier to use, the multiplayer on the Wii-U had some serious flaws with getting to play with others.
awesome game I still have it and a black wii u , also I have an emulator with enhanced graphis, if they make this DE right is very likely I'm buying the switch
im pretty sure you should buy the next console nintendo releases if its backwards compatible, as the switch is basically at its end of life, its almost 8 year old already
Good video, It’s exciting to finally see Xenoblade X DE. However it pisses me off that Nintendo is not only releasing this at the end of the switch’s life cycle similar to the original, but they didn’t even bother giving it a direct to announce it. Xenoblade 2 was announced in a direct. Xenoblade DE was announced as the “one more thing” bit of the direct it was announced in, and Xenoblade 3 had AN ENTIRE DIRECT dedicated to it. But XCXDE? Nah, just drop the trailer like it was your arch nemesis’s newborn baby. If XCX doesn’t get the attention it deserves, this will be the reason. Now look, I understand why XC2 was so many people’s first game (though I don’t understand why people thought it was good, especially in comparison to previous Xeno titles). It released the same year as when the switch dropped. The switch is the most successful console Nintendo has, it’s pulling in other anime fans with its artstyle. My point is, you’d think they’d learn from last time that you NEED to market the freaking game if you want it to sell. And so far, shadow dropping the trailer for probably the (technically) biggest Xenoblade game is heinous
TBF... if the rumors of the Switch 2 being backwards compatible, then it's not That big of a deal. It'll probably be out just in time for the Switch 2 to have been revealed.
@@dragoonmk4203 i can only hope. But either way, I think it would be better to just release it with Super Nintendo Switch. (That better be the name or imma start a one man riot)
Imo if they really want this game to sell well, they should’ve waited for the next console and not at the bone tail of the Switch where people are just gonna save thier money for the shiny new console
Nah, this is the better play. 99% next Switch will be backward compatible, so it won't be a matter of being locked to playing this on Switch 1. People will be able to enjoy this on the new system as well (if we're lucky, playing Switch 2 will be accompanied by some graphical improvements). In addition, releasing XCX to the 150 million Switch 1 userbase ia definitely their best bet for maximum sales. Especially when you consider now the Switch will have ALL the Xenoblade games - not something to scoff at.
agree and disagree with this ngl. on one hand, they did this same thing on Wii U with X and it did pretty damn poorly because of it. on the otherhand like people mentioned there's a huge playerbase on the switch, and won't have to buy a new console to play it. i just hope switch 2/whatever its called will be backwards compatible, but that's so rare these days it's hard to say for sure
@@ShinUltima Here’s the big question tho? How many of those near 150 users are still activie and how many of them will you think peep a port before right before the new console appears? Cause again once the Switch 2 is revealed, nearly everyone will go into save mode so they can preoder and buy it day one.
@@RealBVT Yall are like really overestimating the signifficance of the huge install base, especially for series that only recently stareted to do well. Most of those users are probably inactive now and the rest will pronably skip cause again they can save up for the new console.
Please. For the love of all that is good writing in this world, tell me why Xenoblade 2 is the game that had you gripped. I can never understand how anyone can like that one. And I’m not saying this to be mean. I genuinely don’t understand. I was one of the people who got into the series shortly after Shulk got into smash, fell in love with the story and writing of 1, ADORED the characters and vibe of X, and was excited for 2. But when the game came out, the story was bad, most of the characters were poorly written ESPECIALLY the main character, while the graphics and animation is good, the artstyle is not only bad but WILDLY inconsistent, the gameplay got way worse, the gacha system is stupid af yet is integral to getting important items in a single player game, world is unoriginal (I swear if I see another world tree in an anime/anime game, I’m gonna flip), while the music is good i personally hold it at a lower pedestal that the other games… except for counter attack… specifically the little guitar bit. The voice direction is ASS, and the game released in a poor state. How is Xenoblade 2 the one people flock to?
I…I liked the story and art style, idk what to tell you guy, I enjoyed it 😭 (I also played it subbed my first time through though because Rex’s voice direction was atrocious)
@@SoulSideQuests That sucks. I want to enjoy this series, I really REALLY wanted to enjoy 2, but as much as I was eager about Xenoblade continuing, I was left feeling so very disappointed. And then I go online and see people taking about how its “the best Xenoblade game” But okay, I won’t try to demean your opinion, but can I ask you one more thing? I’ve seen so many people cry at the ending as if its so emotional. But I don’t get what about that ending makes people cry. If you cried, or atleast know why one would cry, could you tell me? Cause maybe I’m missing something. All in all, my gripes with two have only lasted this long because since it did better in sales than its predecessors, it has a bigger impact on the series going forward. Such as the gameplay and that freaking picture at the end of 3 -_-
The mythology of a world tree is engrained in the human psyche because there is something about it that is massively important that they’ve forgotten. It comes out in movies and games for a reason.
Truthfully, XC2 is the least of my favorite out of all franchise but that is my personal opinion so if others think XC2 is their fave game, respect to them since XC2 has that potential, but it was not to the direction I was hoping...but my biggest gripe is the fan-service...sorry guys! Haha XP... I don't like too much fan-service and character-wise, my eyes just bled looking at Pyra and Mythra...of course there are others in XC2 hahaha! XD
I don't get it, you say the characters are poorly writhen but... sorry, but I have to say, lets just compare the Xenoblade 1 and 2 characters, Malos, Jin and Amalthus for example are such amazing villains which you can think about every thing that happened in their lifes to understand why they are doing that, while Xenoblade1... Egil is the only one which you can do that, the others too of course but not something that great, and Dickson mainly I still don't understand why his actions, why he wanted power in the first place, the game didn't explain, though the plot he gave to the game was so cool. Zanza, I got to understand him when I met Klaus and saw what made Klaus different to Zanza, Zanza never had the humanity, all he know is his power, it was so cool understanding both Klaus and Zanza in Xenoblade 2... While the main characters, I think almost every one in Xenoblade 2 has a interesting past and a develop through the story, taking off Morag and Dromarch maybe. While in Xenoblade 1, they don't have that much past or develop, taking off Melia, but still is a great party with great charism. Now, Shulk vs Rex, both are great characters, but what makes me like Rex more, is how he feels more human, with mistakes but also what made him win was his ability to try to understand everyone and change them to the best. While Shulk is amazing, but he is carried by the Monado (and his determination of course and hability to understand when he is wrong) and not his relationship with the others. I love Shulk but at the end of the day, it is Rex who I get inspiration from. But it is great they are different, I don't want to Shulk be Rex and not Rex being Shulk, they make a great job to the games they are. I could also say about how Xenoblade 2 bring more realistic themes, the problems the characters have are mostly problems we have, be Nia afraid of being herself or be Amalthus representing the problems of the humanity as a whole, or... Jin having a no purpose life after he lost Lora, and even more through the game. These are things that... Made me think about the game after finishing it, while Xenoblade1 didn't do that to me I understand you like Xenoblade 1 more than 2, Xenoblade 1 is so amazing, it is the game that made me love the franchise there on the Wii. But I don't understand you don't see these qualities in Xenoblade 2.
Xenoblade X is proto-BOTW with transforming mechs and a Sawano soundtrack.
I played over 300 hours of this game, sunk nearly an entire month into it, and I am ready to do it again!
2000 hours in this game on original hardware and Cemu, I'm ready to spend that much time on XCX again on switch
2000 justified hours for peak
