I am a longtime fan and admirer of Marcus Miller's bass playing and really dig his work as musical director for Al Jarreaus 1993 live album 'Tenderness' - His pocket and slap feel is beyond incredible and i worked some hours on this transcription without really getting the right sound. After some thoughts i called a friend of mine and borrowed his 1973 Fender Jazz Bass which was recently re-fretted by Knut Reiter, a famous luthier over here in Germany with a huge knowledge in vintage instruments. Normally i am used to play 5-Strings but i only needed a couple of minutes to just feel comfortable and to realize, that this bass can get the 100% Miller sound! Now i have to find one for myself ... ;-)
FYI: Bass has Eb-Tuning and the Transcription is a half tone higher than original because of the lower tuning!

Ich habe einen 78er mit DiMarzio Pickups gefunden, welcher wirklich gut ist - Leider kommt er nicht ganz an den 73er in dem Video heran. Die Suche geht also weiter ;-)
@@RobertSchulenburg Hahaha, verstehe....hast Du vielleicht ein Video mit dem 78er gemacht? Ich selber habe auch einen 78er... (Esche klar mit Palisander Griffbrett)

Puh, ich weiß es nicht mehr, das ist speziell bei diesem Bass aber auch egal, der klingt immer hervorragend - Leider weiß der Besitzer selbst um die Klasse des Instrumentes und verkauft ihn mir nicht ;-)
