Had the same bike with a few modifications. Dial a jet carb kit, supertrapp exhaust. Blazingly fast. Fastest for me.. I'd rip through the gears with the tach pegged never letting off. Had to let off at 137mph as I approached a curve. Got a little scary on that road. When I sold it I made the guy pay in advance before riding in case he lost it. He came back with the biggest scared smile ever. Wish I would have kept it.
i owned an 86 vmax back in the day, but always secretly wanted a fazer. as cool as a vmax was i actually thought the fazer looked better. plus the vmax was often more stress than fun
Love those bikes, recently bought one for €350,- (FZX750 ‘86 as a project bike). The first thing that hit me was a slipping starter clutch, accessing that is a pain. Might stall it for a year or two, I really hate the idea of pulling the engine and splitting it. But at the same time I just want to see it running.
Thats some good ol fun.. looks like Wyoming or new Mexico? Perfect area for riding.. Down here in South florida its only a matter of time till one of these undesirables t bones or mowes right over you
@@mtvertcaver wow.. been many moons since i been through them parts.. beautiful country u got there for 2 wheels bub... wow im jealous, what a landscape..
sounds like you're not letting off the throttle enough, so the engine spikes when you pull the clutch in to shift. that adds unnecessary wear, should match revs and speed perfectly
mine goes best at 6000. maybe loosen the clutch slightly slower to keep the revs higher and the front will come up slightly and then just do clutchless upshifts ;)
Hello there! I`m in love with this bike :)I would like to buy exactly the same as yours. The same year and 700 too. Can I ask you a question? What is mileage of your bike? Do you know what are the max mileages of this engine?

with the windshield you have better fuel economy?
When it's aimed right, I gain 3 miles per gallon. Better stability in wind too.
Hi Rick! What is this clear fairing you have in this motorcycle? I want to get on for mine like this!
Claudio Matta The windshield (windscreen) is a Slipstreamer Spitfire.

That's just shifting ....from last year. My launch sucks. THAT'S what I still need help on a year later.
I love the 86 fazer!!!! You still own yours?
Yes I do!!
