Honestly, kudos for not having an affiliate link. I actually trust your video because of that. I'm getting the new 2024+ Wired Cruiser (new one with full suspension) and I'm really excited! It's reassuring to know the customer support is solid.
Thanks for sharing this information. I saw another video where the rider mentioned about the same concern with the gears and it was resolved by pulling out the guard a little.
One thing you you missed that’s damaged on your bike. If you look at the back of the rack top tubing you will notice that it’s bending down. That’s not the way it should be, it should be straight and parallel to the tube below. I have the same bike and Steve is sending me a replacement. Just thought you should know. This seems to be a common thing with the way UPS is damaging them.
UPS is Wired's worst enemy. I received my bike in October and didn't know what I was missing until I was putting the bike together. First, I was missing the front axle and other accessories I've ordered. Essentially I was missing the small box that should have arrived with the bike. As I've noticed what I was missing, I called/emailed Wired several times to request the missing parts including the battery charger. There is an option to buy shipping insurance at around $200 which is 10% the cost of the bike itself. Given UPS' attitude and lack of care, I think it might be worthwhile for Wired to beef up their packaging and possibly ship the smaller accessories/components in a separate shipment. Wired worked with me to take care of everything so YES, their customer support gets A+. Scaling is tough and Wired's initial success with their high quality bike is a blessing in a disguise with scaling, as they've created what I believe the best bang for the buck! After a month passed since receiving my bike, I took it for my maiden voyage today and oh wow!
Shipping damage seems to be something that keeps plaguing Wired. They have gone so far as to make the box look like it's a TV being shipped so the carrier would use more care, but it appears they really just don't mind damaging your product. I know FedEx would be more expensive, but maybe it's time for a trial run to see if they get better results?
I think it would be useful if the chainstays were lengthened in order to prevent the rear tire from coming into contact with the controller housing. Many reviewers have commented on this design flaw. It is the only issue that prevents me from ordering this bike.
Interesting concern. I wonder if that's the buzzing sound I'm hearing when compressing the rear over rough terrain? (I had assumed it was the fenders since they are so close to the tires.)
Question , did your Wired already come with the Air shocks suspension or did you have to have that added prior to shippment.. the pics on their website shows a standard spring suspension.
OK... Wonder why on their website as default it comes with a spring one.. and the air shock rear suspension is a added accessories for $75?.. @@ExpeditionOverlanding
Nope.. still at 1999.00 prolly will have to ask prior to buying it and say does the air shocks come with it or is that a add on?@@ExpeditionOverlanding

Yes my rack broke and they are sending me another!!!! Shipping through ups was terrible , they smashed my bike so bad that the plastic pieces protecting the axle holes were so crammed inside the hole I actually had to drill the plastic out before I could insert the quick release . I knew something was amiss when ups sent me a text saying my bike was arriving today , then @ 7pm I would receive another text saying it was delayed and would arrive tomorrow , this went on for 10 days straight . Once the bike finally arrived , it had been completely opened(all the copper staples were pulled out) and haphazardly taped back . I believe that they smashed it so bad that they were worried it had destroyed and that's why they had opened it all the way up . Yes my derailleur protector was smashed all the way into the derailleur as well . Had a couple really deep scratches on the rack ( glad that it wasn't on the bike) and was thankful for the included touchup paint , so thoughtful of the owner . So far so good just freaking love this bike !!!!!!!!!!!!
Did yours come in after the May pre-order ended, or during a previous wave? I'd be curious to know if this was specific to this batch or it's happened before.
I guess I lucked out on UPS shipping. Mine was fine, no damage at all, arrived in 7 days after shipment. Double boxed, which may have saved the bike from damage. I'm an old disabled Vietnam veteran so I felt terrible at your experience. Joe Riley, retired owner and innkeeper of the Cub Inn B&B in Groveland near Yosemite.
They answer my chats. I'm not paid. I picked up my bike at Dan's. He had already set the bike up for me (no mechanical issues). There is a small scratch in the paint (I got the burnt orange) but at least it came with touchup paint. I have only 20 miles on it. Tweeking the handle bars position ect....install mirrors next. Have unleashed the top speed because at 20 mph the power cycled on and off which was irritating. Very glad to have this bike. I have a Rad Rover and a folding Bagibike. I'll sell the Rad to make room in my garage.
They shouldn't be using the same shipping company then. $275 for shipping is way too much to be receiving a damaged bike considering other companies aren't even charging for shipping.
Bro everything you said in this video is a nightmare. you spend 2k on that Bike the company should be responsible. is costumer service is so great they should have said(send it back to us and we sent you a new one). good luck.......
Yes very true! And I kept the front of my box because I thought it was a cool idea. My only real concern is the location of the controller. My solution is to relocate it, I plane to move it into the rack. I pound mine pretty hard off road. It's a blast and a very well built BEAST! LOVE MINE
Truth be told he's a lucky one I have called with no answer emails no answer. People should be concerned my bike brake sensor does not work. I turned the throttle and let go the bike was still moving full power and the brakes stopped the bike. The throttle was getting stuck. And no return phone calls or email. Everyone be careful before you purchase these bikes bikes. Don't always listen to the hype that others are being payed to make these videos about how the product is. This is a new company they have there Share of issues, don't believe the hype.
This dude sounds like the competition to be honest, not enough he's crying about something that most likely wasn't even the companies fault but buyer assembly rookie mistake etc, but he takes another jab at the company by saying they don't respond😅 they've responded to every little stupid question I've had and I don't even have the bike yet! It's on preorder till January! And steve would tell me he's happy to answer any question possible and try to get an answer if not known. He's a cool dude just by my standards
Not sure if I needed to (seeing wired is so great with their Customer service) I purchased the shipping Insurance. It'll save the company and myself a few bucks if something is wrong come shipping time🤷♂️

Do 2024 Wired Freedoms have quick release wheels?
I don't know about the 24 model, but the 23 has a quick release front wheel only.
@@ExpeditionOverlanding Thanks.

Yeah I'm anxiously awaiting my bike to arrive mid-august, I emailed Steve a couple questions and he responded right away which I thought was cool

how bad a shape was the box in when you received it?
It didn't look damaged when I took delivery (no holes in the box or anything).
@@ExpeditionOverlanding I received mine with some dings in the paint. wondering if it was boxed up that way overseas??
@@SuperSlappy25 Quite possibly. The shipping damage would be smashed in deraluer or bent damage. Paint chipping was probably from the factory.

Fixed with new shock on older versions and a new frame in latest version.
Is the bike really that loud? Seems louder than other e-bikes I've ridden. Could that be bc of the steel gears in the motor?
Could be wheel noise as well. Aggressive tires make it loud on regular roads
i heard creaking while you were driving.. my guess is that is the rack
Probably right.
