Not only does UVA and UVB light attract the bugs, it also helps the plants grow !
The 20W moniker is misleading since that only refers to the wattage of the florescent tubes (2x10W=20W) and not the zapping power of the grid which is 2800V low amperage.
-- I did notice a difference in the plants closest to the bug zapper. They seemed to have a more healthy color and seemed to be lightly stronger.
@@back40bandit98 Yes the standard florescent tubes that come with the zappers are in the UV-A spectrum which is basically sunlight so your plants are getting sunlight 24/7 if you leave the zapper on at nights. I am trying to get UV-C tubes in both 185.0nm(with ozone) and 253.7nm(without ozone) so I can also use these zappers as germicidal lamps so not only will it zap the bugs that comes in direct contact with the zapper's grid, but it will also disinfect the entire room of any living organisms(not recommended for plants) from bugs that are not directly zapped to viruses on surfaces and in between the walls, in closets and drawers as well !
Thanks for the review... just started our window herb garden this year and it's the worst with all the little nats/bugs. We have a small bowl of Apple Cider Vinegar and a few drops of Dawn dish soap, works pretty good, but I need someone more consistent, I think this would be great.

Your bugs are crawling around on your bottom tray. It didn't kill them. It just stunned them. I am glad that your video shows this.
Thanks for watching the video. Yes, It did stun a lot of the bugs, but eventually it killed hundreds of them. I'm still using it today. Sometimes the popping noise gets annoying.
I think fly paper in the bottom would help.

I have two aspects love them but what I notice is there is a lot of the same product with all different names which one is the original and which ones are knock-offs
-- Go to Tractor Supply Co. and get a live trap. Use dry cat food as a bait and you will be able to catch them and relocate them. Don't transport them inside your car unless you have a large plastic container that can fit the live trap into because they like to urinate all over the place. Let me know if you try this. I like to hear what others experience with their groundhogs.
-- Ugh, Sorry. Wrong video. Yes, The Aspectek indoor insect killer works really well. I am still using mine with the same bulbs in it. The thing just keeps on zapping those little flying bugs.

what voltage is running through the metal grid ? Ive got a flyzapper but it doesnt pop and the little black flies like you got walk over the wire without dying instantly and theirs 600volts running through mine. I want the flies to die instantly .
-- I'm not sure what voltage is running through those wires. I will need to find my volt/ohm meter and check it out. But, I can tell you that this thing fries flies quickly and smells of crispy fly when done. Crispy flies stink really bad.
It's 3000 volts created by an 8 stage Cockroft - Walton voltage multiplier.

@Back40 Bandit Yes, indeed, I enjoyed the video! Yes, I hope you have a massive victory in the garden. I like the indoor zapper in your video, so I ordered one. I happen to grow garden vegetables inside too. I have outdoor zappers that work wonders. I managed to resurrect my old outdoor zapper from 2003 this morning, it needed a new starter and bulb. These zappers are amazing! Hopefully, we'll get decades or better worth of service out of them. Thanks again for sharing your video! AWESOME!!!

You never showed the result of it sitting overnight or a period of time??? 12 min of talking and only 1min of bug zapping!!

So, I will need to make a follow up video to talk about and show how the Bug Zapper is doing, It's still hanging in there and doing great. Something that I found to be interesting is that the Aspectek INDOOR Insect Killer zap's the little flying bugs and then the ant's come to collect them and take the dead bugs back to the ants home.
