To all the people complaining about un-sprung weight. I'm an average guy. I have a family. We go for food, camping in the woods, visit family and friends. I slow down for bumpy roads and corners. I avoid potholes. I generally keep it within the speed limit. Never, not once, have I taken my family out to race the 24 hrs of Leman in our minivan. So, please - quit with the bitching about un-sprung weight. Are there caveats to the system? Yes, of course there are. That said, if it's kept within reason, there's no good technical reason I can see not to do this for an about-town grocery getter. That's /exactly/ where we need electric drive with regenerative braking as a society. Not on race cars, but in the every day life of people stuck in stop-and-go traffic.
@@ThisTall this wheel can be made for $ 200 yourself) in about 2-3 days ) all parts are taken from the LADA 2108 except for the stator and controller ).(i am responsible for my words)
I haven't heard anything more from these people, but I still want to turn my 2-WD F-150 pick up into a 4-WD by using Wheel Motors up front. This would also give you through-the-road re-gen and charging with your regular engine ... . This would be great in the snow or sand and would not have to supplement any more than a momentary 20% - 30% ... just enough to get unstuck. Depending upon your storage, you would have a hybrid an probably be able to use the Wheel Motors around town. I know this is the rationale anyway ... COME ON!
material costs for this wheel, taking into account the controller, are equal to $ 200 without taking into account the 20-40 kW battery . how much do you sell this motor wheel?
Michelin and others are also working on in-wheel motors. There are challenges with that much dead weight in the wheels. Also, can you run through deep puddles with these wheels? I think trying to retrofit this yourself would be nuts.. it's highly advanced processors and electrical engineering designed for very specific cars and suspensions. But if they can meet quickly dropping battery prices on a new EV model for $20k with a 10 year powertrain waranty it would change the world.
nice, in-wheel was always the best. Great AC HP, what about battery and electronics, costs, range, charging t. how come no one combines HHO motor technology with the E cars, since they already have a great power management?
will there be a system for bigger equipment such as class 5-8 municipality trucks? especially rubbish haulers, they get 2mpg diesel and the natural gas trucks have absolutely hideous reliability.
Where have you been???? You need to make a million in these in wheel motors and make them available so we (people in the USA) can convert our existing cars. Please hurry. This in wheel motor is long over due. If battery power does not last long, then will can put small gas engine in our electrically converted cars. This small gas engine can run a generator to charge the batteries.
That is good or use hydraulic on wheel motor with one big motor on the shaft the it is even better so electric and hydraulic feed to one another plus the hydraulic reservoirs generator to help drive large motor
How ironic that they are advertising new technology on a drive train that looks no different then a 1920's Wagon. Second of all....This is a bad Idea.. May work "ok" for slow non performance vehicles. Engineers are always looking for ways to reduce weight (rebound) on suspension so why add more? Here is a Hint.. Put your motors where that big ugly diff is, giving us independent wheel travel.

I don't understand why we haven't seen this for sale yet as an add on

I love this idea and technology. I will be able to buy my dream classic two-ton 1972 full-size car and convert it. It would be really fun.
Great progress in hub motor tech. I hope they're using PWM drive to save power and reduce heat.

where is this thing now? what happened?
This guy wa way ahead of his time
What does a system like this cost?
You really need to go before the USA Congress and get some money to mass produce your in-wheel motor. It is time we in the USA convert our cars.
do you have an example of this without the tranaxle?
What happened to the tech? Are they still available? What are the pay offs?
Can we use it for motorcycle? Asking from year 2023

How much would it cost to change a tire on one of those?

No engine ? So no power steering, no air condition or heat ?

Where can I buy one? I'm serious. I can't find this anywhere.
Endurance truck lol
It's working on what volatge, how many amp does it drawn?
Good. And. How much really nice truck
Great progres let me advertise

I guess, they didn't want to scare us with the price.
I want to put this in the 4 rear wheels of a 73-78 GMC motorhome leaving the gas motor up front
vad hände
can u put that in roller skates and make air treks it would make a lot of money
demo axel got obsolete or redundant dshaft and differential...
nice

need 6 for semi
I am buying this motor
and, as usual another invention that would help millions by making transportation cost effective has disappeared. what a fucking surprise...not!

This has been invented in Canada about 30 years ago. Has been bought by GM and destroyed.

.
Yeah, yeah, blah blah... still no where available after 9 years.
get a decent mic and a decent camera
