A point that a lot of "anti-trad" commentators miss is that promoting the trad lifestyle puts SO much pressure on young men to, right out of college, make enough income to fully support 2 people and eventually, children. And in our current neoliberal society, that's nearly impossible for the average person.
Also, I've seen a lot of guys starting their online entertainment career have a female partners who work a traditional job to support them both while he grows his audience. The problems arise when it becomes a vessel for Christian Nationalism, Anti-Abortion rhetoric, Anti-Contraceptives rhetoric, Anti-LGBT+ rhetoric, and general bigotry. Of course, there are other factors that influenced the trad-wife revival, specifically, at least in the US, the issues of stagnant wages, increased wealth disparity, & general disillusionment with work. They tell you things that many older mothers and even medical professionals will not tell you. Even the scary and gross stuff. It’s really important that pregnant people or people who plan to be pregnant know these things so they’re prepared.
Also, the “have as many white babies as possible” thing along with traditional values is absolutely true. My own father tried to sow those seeds in my head as a kid. He’d make comments like “it’s nice to see white women having kids” whenever we’d pass by a pregnant white lady in the car. He’d say things like “I prefer women with long hair and sundresses” when I’d cut my hair and wear pants. None of it worked, I still don’t want children, but the hilarious thing is he was always a stay at home dad? With no job? And no education? And his wife, my mother, worked full time outside the home and has an advanced degree?? It really makes me wonder what he thinks of her.

Okay so I got married at 19. My then boyfriend and I figured if our relationship could survive him joining the Navy, being gone 3 months for boot camp and 6 months for his first deployment after boot camp, it could tank anything. Neither of us proposed, we sorta just agreed through discussion that if we both still wanted to do this when he got back we were gonna get married because married Navy boys get Family Separation Pay.
This is what the US Navy PayScale is designed for. It is INTENDED that a single sailor support a family, thus pay increases with the size of your family. You get married, pay increase! You have a new baby? Pay increase! That IS the incentive system that everyone on a US Navy Base is living within. Members getting married to someone they basically don't know to just collect that pay increase happens a LOT and leads to a lot of shitty marriages and basically abandoned kids.
I knew at age 6 I never wanted to be pregnant or give birth or raise kids. I'm 32 now, this has not changed. BUT BOY OH BOY NOT FOR LACK OF FUCKIN PRESSURE! Because if you are visibly feminine on a naval base you will be asked where your children are. Not "Do you have kids?" In the checkout line small talk but "Where are your kids?" Make any friends through the support group for spouses? They all have kids! And they would LOVE to hang out with a fellow adult buuuut I have to be okay hanging out with their child. And talking about their kid because that's all they got, and interrogating me about why I haven't gotten pregnant yet
The pressure on femme presenting persons is OVERWHELMING, more so if women clock you as being pretty.
Also I cannot count the number of times I calmly told my mother no, still don't want to make babies before I lost patience and screamed at her, on my 30th birthday, that my life lived well is gonna look a lot different than hers, and if she's sick of the hostility she can ask a few goddamn questions instead of shoving shit down my throat and making me spit it back in her face.
The whole idea that women feel pressured away from these things is fucking stupid on its face and reveals some pretty deep internet brain rot.

    • @teutonicterror0365
      @teutonicterror0365 10 місяців тому +1

Ok, first of all, I agree with @H56Nooc, getting your political education (or literally any education) from youtube or youtube comments is the dumbest thing one can do, the best thing you can do if you actually want to educate yourself, is still to read some books, in the best case from well-respected scholars who actually know what they are writing about. Or at least read some Wikipedia articles and their attached sources or whatever. I know it´s hard, but that´s how it is.
But, I´m still gonna try to give you at least a very basic definition of the word "misogyny".
In the broadest sense, misogyny is a term that describes an attitude or belief system, according to which women are less worth, less relevant or inferior to men. Now, it is important to state, that most misogyny is not openly visible, almost no one is going around shouting "I hate women and think they are inferior", no, in most cases, misogyny is internalised , hidden, and most people don´t even notice, when they act in a misogynystic way. Often people also aren´t acting misogynystic towards women as a whole (because they know that this is seen as unacceptable), but they project their hate only onto a small, already socially ostracized group of women, for example prostitutes (or today maybe onlyfans-creators. All these manosphere-guys who constantly shame onlyfans-creators are more or less doing the same thing as medieval people who claimed that prostitutes were "bewitching" men and leading them to satan, and it´s a perfect example of misogyny).
We internalise misogyny through the course of our psychosocial development. All human societies have always been somewhat sexist, and the current ones still are, and because our being determines our consciousness (to a certain extent that is), we observe and internalise a lot of that sexism around us during the course of our development. Or to put it in other words, if we see women being treated in a certain way during our early childhood (the time when we learn how social interactions work), we´ll assume that this is normal and that they should be treated in that way, thus we sometimes internalise misogynystic behaviour.
For example, until relatively recently (less than 50 years ago) men were usually the breadearners and the heads of the family, they were "the boss". Women were the weaker part in this relationship, they were dependent on men, both financially and in other areas (for example, in many countries women needed the permission of their husbands to get a drivers license or shit like that). Kids who grew up during this period, of course observed and internalised this dynamic, they basically subconsciously learned, that women have to play this certain role in society, that women have to be the "weaker" part, or at least that it is normal that they are. And this deeply internalised belief of course didn´t just magically go away, as soon as women got more rights or became more independent. No, getting rid of certain internalised beliefs is of course a long process, that takes decades if not centuries.
Part of the problem is, that misogyny is not just internalised by men, but also by everybody else. Women themselves internalise a lot of misogyny, young girls learn social interactions the same way as everyone else, by observing, and if they see that women behave and are treated in a certain way, then they will try to behave and be treated in the same way.
So even though women are nowadays equal before the law, many prefer to stay within unequal relations, because they learned and internalised, that that´s totally normal, many give up their carreer to care for the children because they learned, that as a woman, that is expected from them, many don´t argue with their bosses over their pay raise, because they learned that women should be obedient, not argumentative or belligerent, etc. Therefore, society itself reproduces certain misogynystic behaviours, because we learn them from the generations before as and subconsciously teach them to the generations after us. And as I said, it takes very, very long, many generations, to overcome such behaviours and beliefs. But the progress so far shows, that it´s possible.
If women act against these internalised views about the world, society often reacts with confusion or even anger. I mean, this is generally the case; if someone does anything new, anything that challenges the values we all learned as children, then the reaction is always confusion and anger, and it´s no different when challenging misogynystic beliefs, actions or systemic structures. Often men also subconsciously feel threatened, if women revolt against the traditional roles that society has imposed upon them, if the entire staff of a company has only consisted of men for the last decades, and suddenly there is a women, possibly even in a high position, then this is a new and confusing situation, that threatens the order to which the men are used to, and this can also lead to misogyny.
A few more examples for misogynystic behaviour: Sports. Women were for a long time banned from competing in certain sports (in my country for example, women weren´t allowed to play soccer until the late 1970s). When women then fought for their equal rights and started to organise their own clubs, leagues, events, etc., men of course had a huge headstart (again, soccer is a good example, before the first womens club in my country was even formed, men already played it professional and earned literal millions). Therefore, womens sport often looked unprofessional and bad compared to the highly professionalised, well organised and already very popular mens sport, and many men, especially those who feared that women would now enter their "safe spaces" ( watching sport and drinking a beer with the lads in the pub is literally that, a safe space for men, and if women are playing sports now as well, they might "invade" that safe space), took this as proof, that women were just bad at sport and shouldn´t do sport at all, or at least only "womanly" sport like gymnastics or whatever. And today, 40 years later, womens soccer is slowly, very slowly starting to become a professional sport as well and the quality has visibly improved during that time, but still, many men and even women constantly run down, belittle or outright hate womens soccer, many people for some reason still think that you need a dick to kick a ball.
Next example: swear words. This one might seem silly, but think about it: There are a bunch of feminine terms which we use as swear words, and almost no masculine ones. C*nt, Wh*re, P*ssy, (Son of a) B*tch, Tw*t, Sl*t, etc. The only masculine equivalent I could think of, might be D*ck. By using terms for prostitutes/promiscuituve women or for the female genitalia as derogatory terms, swear words, we imply that there must be something bad about these things. If "c*nt" is a swearword, then there must be something bad about having, well, a c*nt, such usage implies, that especially sexually active women are somehow a bad thing, and by using these words, we reproduce this outdated view.
So, this is still a relatively short explanation, one reason why you might find, that the term "misogyny" is somewhat vague, is because misogyny is a pretty big phenomenon and a bunch of stuff falls under it´s umbrella. It definetly encompasses a lot more than just open hatred towards women, and to really understand it, you´d need at least a basic understanding of psychology, sociology and ideally even law and economics, cause all of these aspects play a role when it comes to why misogyny exists and what the effects of it are. As I said, to really understand it, you´d have to read at least one or two good books, and I will absolutely admit, that I am no expert on this topic either.
Because misogyny is often such an internalised and hidden phenomenon, it is important to "sharpen your senses" so to speak, to spot misogyny where it appears, and the goal is of course to sensitize society as a whole more, so that we can fight misogynystic tendencies on a structural level and overcome these internalised beliefs.
I´ve already spent way to much time writing this, so I haven´t really re-read and structured this well, so my arguments might be a bit all over the place, I hope this comment is not to long and my arguments are still understandable, if not, sorry. Either way, hope it helps.
      Have a good day

@@NapoIeon oh I see, joined 4 months ago, every comment is empty and has nothing to back it up just insisting that 'all is not what it seems'. Well here is the thing, I know exactly what these Anti-SJW's say and think, not the least because for one thing I heard this one in this video, but mostly because I have seen hundreds of hours of content from these types of UA-camrs already, there is nothing especially unique about any of them. In all this time I've encountered about one or two who can string an okay argument together, even if I don't agree with what they're saying.
Here's the thing though, I grew up in a Conservative environment, I still have Conservative friends to this day, and the media I consume doesn't cut out what they say and only leave in the nice bits, I know exactly what they are implying. I've studied propaganda extensively, not just directly but how it works, how it's made. I've educated myself with a wide variety of sources, I've never ever existed in an echo chamber. Do you know why I'm left-wing and why I don't fall for anti-SJW rhetoric? Because I've listened to them, that's why. I've listened to them and I'm horrified at what they say, what they do and want they want other's to do. I disagree with them on a fundamental level, what they believe is the opposite of what I believe and have done for an extremely long time.
So if you think me going over to this guys channel and watching yet another anti-SJW is really going to change my mind whatsoever, especially considering the incredibly weak arguments displayed in this video, you're kidding yourself.

My parents called it teamwork, and it happened because she got locked out of careers by her crappy start at life and the era. She and my dad had to work to set up a life that didn't suck for all of us. She split household duties with my dad and also tried to help him at work. This idea that to be het is one partner submitting to another has always been alien to me because they raised me calling themselves a team, and when some jackwagon gets on asking why submission is bad. Um. Because outside of a fetish session it's not a fun way to live life? Because EVEN in a household with a so-called traditional division of labor there should be mutual respect? My Dad didn't make every single call on his own, he consulted my mom on the direction my family was moving and even me as the kid. Because he was a whole, complete human instead of a Man(tm).

I was first introduced to the right-wing ideologies, and because I didn't know anything else and was still very young, I considered them to be the truth.
I was fed with propaganda of how "destructive" the left is and how they deny reality.
But as I learned more and was introduced to other points of view, I quickly started changing as I was still not that deep into the rabbit hole. It started with my turn to socialism and realization that the way things are now, aren't as great as I thought. Later, and this one took a while, I finally understood what people that identify as LGBT go through and how they're intentionally portraited by the media as wrong and evil. My views on women also changed, a lot.
One day I found myself revisiting this guy's videos and they just felt... off. I didn't like them anymore and found myself disagreeing a lot with him. So I unsubbed.

I had the exact opposite experience. I have far left parents and live in a very left wing city. I uncritically accepted the narrative I was given in school and by the media. I watched LOTS of breadtube content and I was far left at the time. Luckily, I managed to escape the cult. It started when I realized things are pretty awful today. I noticed that most mainstream media outlets, public schools (my highschool being a prime example), the vast majority of large corporations, and the rich and powerful elites were all very left wing and quickly moving further left. I realized that the left had won the culture war a long time ago. They are at the reins of our society and are taking us over a cliff. Socialism is a failed ideology which only leads to total control by the same elite class, only through the government. Now I think I consider myself part of the “new right”. The fact is most establishment republicans and old school conservatives are corporate shills, same as the left. I hate that crap, though it is slightly better than the left wing version. Since I became conservative I went from a sad friendless loser to being happy and having lots of friends. 90% of the guys I talk to are done with the left and are moving right or already have. Some of the biggest right wingers I know are black guys who are fed up with the left. Keep in mind all of this is in a huge public high school in large coastal extremely far left city. Most guys will hide their real opinions because chicks around here are still woke af. Me and most guys I know never talk politics around girls (ideally) and if it comes up pretend to be left wingers. This strategy works great in my experience. I don’t think all you left wingers realize how tired of your bs most young guys are. You’ve still got girls in your pocket but there’s a right wing movement in young men of all kinds that grows every day.

    • @matteoreyes405

????? If you don’t mind me asking, what do you think “far-left” is? The US is definitely not far-left, Democrats are still capitalist & complacent. They might progressive when it comes to social issues, but otherwise they’re centrist. Corporations side with whom ever is best for PR at the moment, and they’re inherently capitalist. Also, the idea that “elites” are “far-left” is honestly a laughable take. Left-wing is egalitarian politics & right-wing is hierarchical politics. I’m assuming you’re thinking of authoritarian leftism like Stalinism, Maoism, etc. There’s more democratic alternatives like Social Democracy, Democratic Socialism, & Anarchism.
