Utah's Best Car Show? Rat Fink Reunion 2022! Part II

- Rat Fink was the brainchild of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth back in the1960's. Ed was best known for wild custom cars, hot rods, and chopper bikes. But later Ed became better known for "Rat Fink", a cartoon character of a huge rat that lived in a junkyard. The proto "anti-Mickey Mouse".
The Rat Fink Reunion started 20 years ago in Manti Utah, home of "Big Daddy" after Ed passed... But the legend lives on, as does Rat Fink. Since Ed's death, the official reunion has been held in the first week of June at the Roth home and the Manti City Park.
Mostly a car show, the reunion also features Rat Fink artists and car pinstripers. Over the years it has grown into one of Utah's biggest car shows. Three days of beach music, Rat Fink art, cruising, hot rods, chopper bikes, and ice cream. Ice cream? Well, it's tradition.

Yo showed the custom "peddle car" and down memory lane I went again.
Sometime around 1968 a friend and I went to "Carlsbad drag way" near San Diego. One of the race teams had an old peddle car, tricked out with a lawn mower engine that they used around the pits, it did great wheelies. There was a guy that showed up with a very unique "funny car" a Corvair with the engine in the back.
The track would not let him run alone for some reason (a test run) so the guy in the peddle car decided to run him. To shorten the story a little, the peddle car red lighted, and except for that one Corvair I've never seen another funny car like it. I wonder often wonder why, It was built similar to a rear engine dragster. ;-)

Some awesome stuff there, that Plymouth thingy with the duallies from about 13:16 definitely had Mad Max inspiration, I thought it was great!

@@ToyManTelevision They had the Rat Fink van and t-shirts booth up here this year along with some great cars. Being the 40th anniversary for the show they gave away 2 cars, a 96 40th edition Corvette and a 68 Ford Mustang

I wish there would be more to see. I love these videos you could of done 30 minutes and I'd still of wanted more... I can't get out to go to things like that no more and I miss it. But I get a wee bit of a fit from y'all sharing these videos... Someday I hope and pray I can get back out in the real world and go to these things like I use to before the wreck... Hay guys if y’all check out the mill brook railroad channel the owner of the channel has a 7 & 1/4 inch gauge locomotives unfortunately one of his engines fell out of the vehicle 🚗 that it was in and well going to have to check out the channel 😑😑😑
