    He will gladly drive it here for a full inspection. We never looked at any of the RV side of things we only did bus maintenance on it here. Interior is incomplete but it’s a great start probably 80% if i had to guess. Mechanically it’s ready to hit the road. It needs to stretch its legs. Excellent but to complete the conversion on.

    That would be a perfect Turnkey for the person who wants a personally customized RV and doesn't have to rebuild it underneath. The expensive important stuff is done!

    Someone's gping to get one heck of a sweet ride and it'll definitely be a safe one.
    Plus they'll be able to customize the interior to fit their taste.
    I sure wish I could afford to buy and own it.
    It would be my full time abode.

    • @fstlnj29
      @fstlnj29 2 роки тому

      @@BusGreaseMonkey My point is that his price is affected by the amount of work done. There is nothing wrong with the work or what you charged him. When he bought the bus if he overpaid based on the amount of work needed that would still affect the price he needs to get. No reflection on you or your skills rather math, unless he got a price that reflected all that the bus needed. I don't work for free and neither should you!

    • @BusGreaseMonkey
      @BusGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому +3

      Most buses on the market still need all that stuff done so it’s got a leg up. Before or after those expenses will be factored in. This one did need about 2x the normal treatment but it’s ahead of the game vs it’s competition on missed maintenance intervals and new rubber. And the work wasn’t done at a fleet maintenance shop ;)

    I would not use copper pipework in a bus when there are plastic alternatives that cope better with frost.

    • @BusGreaseMonkey
      @BusGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому +2

      We used pex in our bus. It’s much better for freezing i agree. Lots of rv’s do have copper though.

    • @DLTJR1959
      @DLTJR1959 2 роки тому +1

      Agree. Liberty, Marathon, Newell, etc...all still use copper. I guess it's a visual quality thing of using the best? Pex is much better. We used it for our back porch that has our washer and dryer. Underside of the porch is open and unheated leading into our basement. It's unheated and the pex works great in the winter.

      Howdy,
      I think it'd be hard to find a Class A diesel pusher, unless it needs work or unless you're talking about a sticks and staples Class A?
      I've seen both in accidents and the sticks and staples normally don't fair as well as coach based ones
      I'd rather go older, even much older coach based for long term durability and safety.
      Not trying to be argumentative with y'all, just my humble opinion.

    • @TD_YT066
      @TD_YT066 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, those Consumer gas Class-A's are disposable, good for about 20 years / 150K before they start falling apart.

    • @BusGreaseMonkey
      @BusGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому +6

      Sticks and staples motorhomes fall apart when the wind blows on them. A ten year old one a fart in the bathroom literally might blow the doors off. Call an rv dealer that sells them and try to schedule warranty service for something. Every single one sold is waiting on something warranty related to be fixed at any given time. Once the warranty is gone they get sold cheap but rightfully so. They can look nice, have nice features. They are made for 1-2 short trips a year. Full time they don’t hold up and please never call them a bus ;)

    • @uliwehner

      nowadays a car costs 50 grand. try buying a diesel pickup. i would not be found dead in a used sticks and staples motorhome for under 50 grand. then again if you buy one, you just might.... I just did a search here in the atlanta area. found 2, a 99 and a 2004. the beaver looked pretty decent. but definitely not nearly as cool as a MCI.

    • @BusGreaseMonkey
      @BusGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому +2

      Brand new tires, airbags, radius rod bushings, wheel bearings, shocks, that’s 25k of parts and maintenance. 10k diesel generator, 3 roof airs with heat strips, automatic trans, awning and more? 25k it is not.

    • @aaronnicholson8470
      @aaronnicholson8470 2 роки тому +1

    • @BusGreaseMonkey
      @BusGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому +6

      We bought a 7 with a bad engine for 17k but it still needs tires, airbags, and all the fun stuff plus it’s a dated interior, no diesel generator etc. yes you can but cheaper but your after purchase expenses are double your purchase price.

    • @BusGreaseMonkey
      @BusGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому +6

      And I’m not even saying i don’t think it’s high priced. I never recommend buying a bus doing all the maintenance then trying to sell it. That is a money loosing proposition. But most conversions will need or buyers will want a kitchen remodel and bathroom upgrade. This is ready for that with nothing hidden in those area. He’s selling at a big loss at his asking price. I personally think 49500 is high, 40-45k is a good deal and if it sells for anything under 40k is a great deal. Saying it’s worth 25k is ignorant.
