First time I saw this rainy video I thought the cop shot him maliciously. But with better video quality I would say it looks more like the guy pulled his gun out seconds before being shot and just in a split-second moment about to turn and shoot the police officer when the police officer fired first. I think this cops literally pulled that trigger the last possible second before getting shot himself.
Officer gets a GOLD STAR. Suspect gets the Darwin Award. With his attitude, he was never going to be an upstanding citizen. I realize cops don't like to have to resort to this, but sometimes it works out in our favor.
In a situation like that you can't tell if he playing dead or not so that was why he said that as the suspect was still able to speak. You'd be surprised how many shots it takes to kill a person assuming a person is not wearing a plate carrier or soft armor.

He did get help. Immediately called for EMS, you clearly aren’t in medical field. Not much you can do for penetrating thoracic trauma in the field. Putting a towel or gauze on the entry would does absolutely nothing. Getting EMS and to a Hosp best and only thing to do, unless you want the cop to do a thoracotomy/clamp aorta in the parking lot 😂.

Why does he have to? Guy just pointed a real gun at him, there was no backup, a gun on the ground and screaming drunk people around him. He could have given first aide and then been ambushed by girl friend, friend or other bike gang members. He did what he is trained to do and survived while killing a guy who just tried to assault and shoot him, the called for backup and EMS. No mercy for the wicked. FAAFO. Turns out the cop wasn't a pussy, but a verlteran who maintained his composure in a bad situation. We need more like him. And you need to grow up and have some common sense. 😊
Because he was alone on the scene, the subject could still be armed, and you have the female half of a DV call screaming in the background. There's good odds of being attacked from behind while providing aid without backup. There is also NO evidence to indicate that the guy would have lived. Per the incident report he died "several days" later, so he obviously received timely treatment.
"Taft was hospitalized, and later died from his injuries." That's a win. 10/10
