It’s going to be fascinating if Chimaev takes it there quickly. It’s Costs’s self professed first love and passion that he neglects in favor of the exciting finish on the feet. But forced to go to ground, Chimaev for the first time in his career might have his hands full
He literally got held on the ground In full guard for the full remainder of the 3rd RD by Vettori, and just sat there useless. Gilbert said himself "Costa doesn't have the submission wins I do, he doesn't have the heart I do".
And overpowering a washed up and gassed out Luke Rockhold doesn't prove anything when you can compete with MWs like Vettori.
(who's a former WW like Khamzat btw, while being nowhere near as good of a grappler or as acclimated of a wrestler).
