I dont mind this style of safety on my other tools. For some reason this one has excessive travel on the safety arm before it can disengage. This also causes problems when you try and squeeze the trigger prematurely it stops the safety from passing the midline and disengaging like it should.
Just did this with my new straight one too and it worked! I didn't want to bend the arm since it all looked a little flimsy and this is what I came up with.
