Yes. That *is* certainly one of the best jobs in the world, imo. Lucky man! Looks so amazing
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
We just spent 16 days on safari in Kafue and Lower Zambezi parks in Zambia in June, and this takes me right back there. It was an amazing time. I can't wait to go back to Africa again. Seriously folks, forget the kitchen remodel or trading up to a newer car. Go on safari instead. It's life altering.
Hi Frank. I absolutely agree with you here!!
Absolutely love the video, an awesome soundtrack & a great story. And the photos of the loins are spectacular and next-level. Thanks so much for taking us along on that safari 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much. Thanks for coming along for the ride !!
Some amazing shots, well done!
Thank you
You are living my dream.. I am not talented enough to be a wildlife photographer although I take a lot of photographs of birds, butterflies and .. and I am almost 40 years old now and from a very low income group in my country India.. I can't think about a career change now, but I hope some day that I can travel through the wilderness.. God bless you..
Hi there. Thanks for the comment. It's great that you at least enjoy taking photos. There are some amazing places to visit in India.
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotographyHope you come here some day and I can meet you personally.
You have the talent to become a wildlife photographer….. you just need to unlock this latent talent within you.
What a story amazing video
Thank you very much
Your driver doesn’t miss a beat,amazing.
Yip. The guys are used to working with me 😀
Very beautiful lion pics!
Thank you very much Janine
What an inspiring video! The amount of happy jealousy is huge right now. You've done a great job outlining the day and this particular day was amazing from the looks of it. Glad you pointed out that not every day is like that because some forget that we can't control the wildlife in this world of wildlife photography :)
Thanks Brian!? For sure. One thing we can’t control is the wildlife and the light!!! Thanks for watching
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography btw what I meant by happy jealousy is happy for you and I’m jealousy inspired. Africa is huge on my list so your videos have me pumped to continue my research and get over there :)
Beautiful Lioness

Wow! Really fabulous images!! Thanks so much for sharing your “typical day on safari”. Great video!
Thank you very much for watching and commenting
Lucky you, what a job, but someone has to do it right.? We did a mini safari after my husband had climbed Killmanjaro, for a charity fundraiser, my daughter and I flew out the same morning he reached the top and were in the hotel pool when he and fellow walker arrived. We spent 4 days staying in tented camp, it gave us the idea we must do it again. Thankyou for sharing your day and I hope we will be on safari again sometime soon 😊
Great to hear. I’m glad you enjoyed your safari 😀
Great job laying out the day in an engaging way! 🙌🏻 crazy how you can hear what direction to go by their calls pre-sunrise. I don’t know that feeling here haha
Thanks so much dude. Glad you enjoyed it. I hope you can join me one day!!

nice job dude, great storytelling too. next time you see that male lion, ask him "why such a long face?"
Haha thank you very much!!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful place. Your edits left me in awe of the magnificent creatures around you and laughing with you too. I can’t say it enough, you are an incredibly talented photographer. 🌱✌️💚

King Lewanika Lodge is amazing. We have stayed there twice and enjoyed it very much.
It’s a special place for sure!!
Absolutely amazing! WOW! Thanks for taking me along!
Thanks for watching!!
Wow amazing video ❤
Thank you very much
This video just popped up on my UA-cam recommendations. The Lion footage is just incredible! Nice to hear a Scottish accent on a photography channel. I am originally from Alloa now living in Melbourne. I took up Bird photography about 3 years ago, heaps of birds here but no lions unless you go to Werribee Open Range Zoo which is incredible. Have just subscribed so looking forward to more inspiration!
Hi Robert. Thanks so much for the comment and for subscribing. I’m glad you enjoyed the video too. I’m sure I have many more you will enjoy. Bird photography can be a game of REAL patience haha.
You did really amazing shots of the wild animals, bravo, bravo, bravo!!!
Thanks you shared this video here! 👍

The dream ❤️ thanks for sharing x
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed!
Meanwhile, I'm thinking about shooting rabbit's in the Eildon woods. (With a camera). Enjoyed the video. Having said that I have been to Africa many times. Cheers.
Haha but hey. So long as you’re getting out and having fun with the camera!
Gorgeous shots, absolutely underrated channel. Hope you get the reach you deserve very soon...

Fantastic. Really exciting thank you. 😊
Amazing insight and photos too. Great post!
I in your voice they all good
I love Lions but only seen them close at Knowsley Safari Park
They are amazing. If you get a chance to see them in the wild it will blow your mind
Great video, love your job
Thank you very much
Nice
First time I saw my all dreams Visuals. Love you sir 👍
Yep. Confirmed: best job in the world! I miss all the time I was able to spend in South Africa’s Kruger national park: there is nothing like the smell of pre-dawn in wild. Bit of a tangent question Andrew: for your video, do you shoot in log? I’m struggling to find good content about how to shoot well exposed video in your kind of wildlife locations - (video tutorial suggestion!)
Hi there and thanks so much for the comment. You are right about those smells and sounds on Africa. So I actually have been shooting in a Sony preset called S-cinetone. I have been thinking about shooting in S-log but never experimented with it yet, the S-cinetone is like a middle ground. Maybe I’ll learn S-log and make that tutorial 😀
I enjoyed this this very much but would’ve really liked to see the settings on the photos.
Thank you very much. Perhaps I need to make some videos with the settings. This one was just to show a day in the life 😀
Love your work it’s amazing! Have you heard or work with Royal Morubisi? I may be going there next year for a safari trip. Please give me some tips on how to get a personal truck. I’m also trying to be a content creator. Thanks
Hi there. I am not familiar with this lodge personally. You would need to reach out to the lodge and ask them for the costs of a private vehicle. Fingers crossed!!
Just subscribed. Awesome.
Yessssss thank you very much!!
Thank you for the video nobody asked for 😅 It was interesting one)))
I wonder, when you took photos of lion in the rain banding from the vehicle, wouldn't it be more convenient to step out from the car and sit on the ground? Is it a safety thing to stay in the car?
Thanks for watching!! Regarding getting out the vehicle, it can be a dangerous thing to do and it can also spook the animals into running away. Let’s just say that I may have been out the vehicle when the camera wasn’t filming 😉
Wow, thank you so much for taking time to share your work, it was very interesting indeed ! We went to Liuwa in October 2018, it was so dry and hot, and the wildebeest were slowly on their way back to the park. So game was scarce but we loved this place, incredible sense of wilderness. May I ask, which month is your favorite in Liuwa ? And why ?
Hi there. That’s great that you’ve been to Liuwa also…as for my favourite month…that’s a hard one…in November and December you get the incredible storms, the pink flowers, the baby wildebeest. Then later around April the park is more accessible when the water levels drop, the pans are full of water and the wildebeest are gathering to migrate!
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography thanks a lot for your reply !
Wonderful to see Liuwa established.and its contrasting environment to Kafue or Luangwa.
Dawn ..always an exciting time to experience a safari.
Time and Tide and the long history of camps in Luangwa is an excellent company to go on safari with.
Simon Artley
Thanks Simon. The park is indeed doing pretty well and it’s a landscape like no other!
Great video....subscribed 👍🏽
Which camera support you use for stable video with the 200-600mm ?
Is it only the bean bag or a fluid head for panning ?
For photography from jeep i think you use only bean bags.
Hey man. Thank you. It’s usually just the beanbag yeah. I ever have time to set up anything else as. I’m flicking between photo and video so much. Thanks for the support. Be sure to check out my other videos 😀
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotographyyeah it becomes very difficult to use anything other than bean bag in vehicles like monopod or pan pod on beanbag and then remove the camera and click pics from low angles.

Great video! I'm going on a safari in Feb to Tanzania. I want to take video and stills. Did you video and them pull the stills from that or did you shoot separately? I always want both and an conflicted what to focus on. I do have 2 Nikon camera and am bringing an Osmo action 4. Advice?
Thank u for this video!🤍 subscribed✅

Just how much danger is there being in an open vehicle in the vicinity of large predators? If you do encounter a lion in camp just what do you do?
Hi there. I’ve never felt in danger on the open vehicles. In fact I can’t think of ever hearing a situation of a wild lion attacking an open vehicle. The great thing is that you can park next to wildlife and they basically go about their normal natural behaviour. It’s believed that they see one solid shape (the vehicle) and not individuals within the vehicle. I’ve had a lion come so close once I could feel it’s breath on my leg but I still didn’t feel endangered. It was just curious. We’re not food to them. I’d you bump into one in camp in my experience they run away. Seeing humans on foot is engrained in them as a threat and danger
very nice video!
one question: what do you use to fill your beanbag? Especially when travelling?
greetings from Brazil
Hi there.
The bean bags I use in Africa are stored there so I just use them.
I like to use rice to fill my beanbag with tho. It’s something you can pick up in most places if you take your empty bag with you 😀
Awesome shots as always. Loves the lion and wildebeest combo!!! How many FPS are you generally filming your wildlife shots in and how much are you generally slowing the shots for your slow motion?
Hi guys!! Thank you very much!! I usually film one 100fps with my shutter speeds at 1/200. I’ll usually drop them into a 30fps timeline which slows me to slow down to around 25% for those smooth slow motion shots 🤟🏼
Hi Andrew - Hope all is well. What insurance do you have for your camera gears for drop and spill and for stolen/theft when you travel internationally?
Hi there. I have my gear insured internationally yeah. To be honest. I don’t know all the terms and conditions of the contract. I used to travel without insurance but at least now I have a little peace of mind 😅
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography could you please share the name of your insurance provider? I am planning an international trip and I am interested in getting some information
I need to know how to take a black and white photo, please if u see this respond, much enjoyed
All photos can be made black and white with editing. 😀

Those are my ear piercings 😀
Hey man I’m having some doubts in booking my private safari to go on my self with a private guide will you be able to make a video on elaborating the process of bookin safaries(private)
Hi there. I am not sure how I would cover this topic in a video. It would probably differ with each company you look to book through. You can always drop me an email and we can talk more about the topic there? amacphoto7@gmail.com
Please research Jigger Victims
I’m not sure what relevance this has to my video ?
Did you manage to see any cheetah in Liuwa...or wild dog?
Hi Simon. Thanks for the comment. Yes I did see cheetah and wild dog on my visit there last month but they can be quite elusive
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography
ah yes Lycoan Pictus is a great wanderer.
Pleasing and reassuring that that rare dog is established there.
Zambia seems to have them in better numbers .
Did you see any less common antelope..
eg roan, hartebeeste sable?
Kafue is very good place to see them
Liuwa 's flatness is surreal...perhaps a bit like the Serengeti....only wetter!
The water drains into the tributaries of the Zambezi.....ends up over Vic Falls and then the Indian Ocean...

Kayaking canoeing bush walk in the wild with people ❌💀
It’s all extremely common on safari all over Africa. People think it’s dangerous but it’s really not when you understand the animal behaviour
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography animals do what animals do it’s the human behavior that’s dangerous- wild 101 either you’re prey or predator 💀
The question is how do you earn money with this?
A fair question. I am paid by the company to travel their locations and create photography and videography for their marketing
@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography Ah ok.
Thank you for your answer.
Why not doing it independent.
Because when they pay you, they make the rules.
If it was my company you would be paid for 3 hours of work that you actually do a day
