It Happened so Fast ...

I was out in the Japanese Countryside sampling some microbes for my microscope from a rice field, when I stumbled upon this, and had my trusty Fuji XH2S in my hand...

Can you imagine being completely and slowly swallowed whole while still alive? That frog was literally inside the snake and somehow made it out because giant mammal person scared the snake. Wild!

Frogs have thick mucus laden skin that probably helped protect it. It may die later from the venom however.

Aww. Too bad the snake was scared out of its hard earned meal. Swallowed and digested alive doesn't sound like a comfortable way to die, though. Thanks for all of the interesting info on this species of snake, and thank you for this awesome footage!

I hate wild snakes so much. Captive snakes are a bit different although I’m still not a fan. I’m glad the frog made it out.
