Magic Kingdom Park Construction | Walt Disney World
/ disneyparks
Anyone who says Disney doesn't really create magic, just watch this video and take note of how a bunch of Imagineers, engineers, and construction workers turned a swamp and a big pile of dirt into a grand entrance, beautiful amusement park, and countless stunning sights! WITH all the Cast Member amenities right beneath the feet of the tourists!
Is the entire magic kingdom above an underground cast member space? Or just certain spots like the center area
@@remyd8767 There are all kinds of tunnels and rooms under the whole park for staff and equipment
FYI: Cinderella Castle is not built out of stone, but it’s built out of concrete, steel and fiberglass. The castle is built and constructed to withstand hurricane wind speeds.
Stephen Kostiak I hope the next hurricane levels this cest pool
Be quiet Disneyland fan
This video helped me understand why a lot of seniors go there. They remember their youth days.
Makes me cry when I think of Disneyworld! I miss it so much!!
It's funny how so many retail developers give so little attention to the streetscape and facades. While many don't even notice, they would attract tourists and windowshoppers. that creates a safe pleasant atmosphere that reassures serious shoppers. There's more to it than fancy facades of course. I can imagine Roy trying to tell Walt that so much fancy architecture wasn't absolutely necessary. I said imagine. I have no proof that he said it, but Roy and others did think Walt's imagination and creativity was expensive to realize. Back on track. Look how successful Disney Springs is now and so much of the merchandise can be found elsewhere. It's the streetscape that brings so many people in.
oh I love this kind of thing, I wish that people had filmed more of it when it was being made, these are little gems.
Growing up in Orlando, I remember 2 uncles and 2 cousins working construction out at the Mouse House from 1969-1971. My dad said we probably wouldn't go there for years but we ended up going in Dec. '71. Best part of the day was my brother getting his head stuck between wrought iron bars in the fencing at the monorail terminal.
0:41 Amazing video of the mark IV on the truck for delivery back then when the Mark IV Monorail was new.
If only Walt were still alive today, he would've been so proud with how Disney World turned out.
208disneygirl I am Walt Disney and Mr Rogers and Captain Kangaroo and I will form quakes on people STEALING MY EMPIRE IMMEDIATELY
EPCOT Center(yes I never dropped the "Center"!) was a watered down version of what Walt had in mind for that park, though.
208disneygirl oh he would be *VERY* disappointed of how Disney is going especially for Epcot
He would be a BIT upset that his experimental prototype community of tomorrow is a no-go on the CURRENT site, but he could always move it to the side of Disney World and upgrade it with NEW technology.
Except for all of the denegrative movies they make now like Star Wars and Wolverine promoting war and violence. I pray someone who has his spiritual vision takes over again
Just watching this makes me want to go there right now :)
Reddog um ok
Te amo mucho ❤️
After Walt Disney World was open, Roy O. Disney retird & passed away in 1971.
Oh nice footage of the construction
My Mother was born in March 28th, 1971... 45 Years later, she can still bitch at me, but after that, she'll talk me into taking me here. :')
"I always love it when a plan comes together!" as with all the parks to date.
Epic.
Is that the Haunted Mansion at 1:11?
iThemePark looks it to me
It is
Yea
Yeah for sure
Thar was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! This place has been a part of my life since I was a tiny kid... It's crazy to even think about it being built! :')
Happy Anniversary WDW!!! 10/1/2011
Wow, seeing it then and it today, can't believe its the same park.
Love this!
Awesomeness!!!
"It'S kind of fun to do the impossible" well said.
WOW!
Yeah that is true and I love that everytime they build a new disney resort they build with some of walts original plans of disneyland.
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary (1971-2021)
omg watching this 2020 is so sad
Walt Disney died before, he could see the park open.:(
AJCrown111 walt Disney died in 1966 and this park open in 1971
Some this is from the film "Project Florida".
Wow
Adorável.
@Teletran35 I think there was a small one and Disney made it way bigger.
I'd lov 2 see it from beginning to now
They need to build a third one in the U.S. somewhere.
Marchant2 no because that will by to much disneylands
I agree! The Florida park is super crowded while the California park is the opposite so maybe another park in the U.S. would even out the crowds a little.
Kenzi Ren they are both crowded lol. Maybe they should put one in the middle of the U.S.
Kenzi Ren well my best bet would be in Texas it’s warm all year round
No need to. Better keep expanding Walt Disney World and make a 5th park and continue to upgrade the other 4.
Cali and Florida are the only 2 perfect places for these resorts. I don't see Texas becoming as popular as these 2.
Years ago, I took a landscaping class; instructor showed us a video of moving the huge trees that were relocated. I would like to see it again. Has anyone seen it?
When Walt Disney World Resort first opened, how many monorail trains are there?
Stephen Kostiak that’s a good question I don’t know
Stay safe during hurricane Irma
They will once WDW is filled
All those thinking of building or buying a business, if you build it, they will come. Just need to let the newspaper know virally of the anticipation.
I love this video! Yay for the archives! I heard getting the monorails all the way to Florida was a big pain. I can't remember what state they were made in...
I'm looking hard for signs of the utilidors, but don't see them. Anyone?
@juiceostans thanks for the correction... lol. I knew it was the 50s sometime.
Wow there was no lake before the park was built?
Nope, it was a man-made lake.
Also, hello from 9 years in the future!
I didn’t know they had drones during this time
They din,t said the day only the week and the year but in an england interview they say that the opening day was october 1 1971
I thought the castle was Sleeping Beauty's castle.
well if he did I bet there would probably not be Epcot:Theme Park, Hollywood Studios and animal kingdom Instead they would have EPCOT the city of the future walt was planning but he died before it could even start and his brother could not carry on the project of the city and what only got constructed was the park and 2 resorts and now it has become the biggest resort on earth with 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, 22 hotel resorts, a shopping district AND PURE MAGIC.
I went there last week
Jason Windrow no one cares if u went there
Carlos Rodriguez oh that’s a shame you can’t afford
They built a Disneyland 10 months
Janna Diadula they built Disney land in one year and one day actually
@disneynut06 There's always one in every crowd, so sad.
@ztslovebird Must be a Six Flags fan
@mom4jla Sleeping Beauty castle is in Disneyland
Why?
I said PROBABLY and what I meant was yeah he probably would make more but it would not be the same and defenetly no Epcot cause Duh it would be the city and probably no studios either not as a theme park but maybe a actual film studio in florida but the most probable park that walt would want to build is animal kingdom and your right EPCOT would be the best city in the world but well it is the best resort in the world and for me Magic Kingdom is the best park in the world.
I just went this week
Rachel True cool
No.
@Kartoonkid95 yep 1971 was Orlando Disney world opening day. 1954 I think was Disneylands opening day in California which I like both but, do like Disneyland better since im closer to it.
Whose here because the 50th anniversary is coming up this week?
So funny How they came out of dirt Buildings and cars traveling by but grass in the World it was a alot of construction due to it
Wait did drones exist in the 60's?
Alexander Fabian um no only slaves
No helicopters dod
What's the song?
