Heh and I just ordered a HyRoad Pearl with 4k Fast. At least I can add on this Reacta Gloss in the future. Will there be a comparison video between both finishes later?
Ironically for me, I have always knocked the polish off and redo the balls to what became 4K fast. I have done this for years. It’s what works for me, everyone is different.
I much prefer the 4k fast over the polish finishes, as I always needed to scuff the shine off, and 4k fast works out of the box. Hopefully, 4k fast will continue to be implemented when useful through future designs...
Why you guys didn't re-shoot without the audio distractions from the warehouse I have no idea... Curious to see how this behaves. I liked 4K Fast (when it actually came from the factory looking like it's 4K Fast, instead of 2000 grit like my Hyped Pearl did) because I always knocked the polish off of shiny balls and let them lane-shine anyways. Excited to see the Burner Hybrid!!! Haven't seen any announcements of it yet.
Burner hybrid has been on the USBC approved list since may. As has sapphire spectre, fate and gem hybrid. There’s your 2022 early 23 releases lol Personally I’m glad they ditched 4k fast not because the concept itself was bad, but rather because Storm stuck their foot in their mouth when they called 4k fast their most consistent finish process. Like you said, You could order 4 of the same balls that come 4k fast and surface scan them and they come out anywhere 2000 to 4500. Not good for shops/point of sale….. anyone who works in a shop will say the same thing…. I hope they got the consistency down for the future balls it’s not acceptable to have as much variance as I’ve seen come since the changeover

I polished my Burner solid with an automotive buffing polish compound, shined up amazing and reduced the early hook I was getting on my dry to light oil house shots. Polish is polish in my opinion, it’s just a way to take out scratches.

@@the_crusty_ledge lol, I don’t compete so it’s fine. I don’t see why though, a polishing compound does not stay on the ball, it simply sands it finer than sandpaper can.

Can you give us the bowler some more data on the final gloss surface grit achieved. Everyone knows the box finish is gone after 6-9 games so we can try to re-accomplish the box finish or tweak it to better suit out game. @@travishanson166 no he didn’t explain it, he just said it has low to no friction on oil and has most to all its friction on dry boards, He said what the RA value is, So that means they know what the final surface grit is. Using different surface preps under the polish leaves different grit levels even at gloss finishes. I’m assuming it’s like 5500 which after 9 games will drop to 4700 and then have to be re applied using 500-1500 then the gloss to achieve box finish.
