Great video. I might be having to do this soon on 23 636 due to bike over heating after coolant and oil change. oil turning super dark 1 ride afterwards
Hey, I have a problem with my 636b. It makes loud knocking noise from cylinder head. My mechanic said that head needs to be repleaced. Can you tell me what goes wrong in cylinder head on 636 because it seems they have problems with them?
It could be your timing chain that’s worn out but also could be a lot of things . And I haven’t heard of any problems on 636 head unless you crack a head from wrecking the bike but 636 usually are pretty solid
My mechanic opened the engine and said that one con rod was bad(rod bearings). It’s 100% because I found plastic chain guide eaten out a LOT and oil pick up was full of melted plastic(chain guide). So definitely it suffered from oil starvation. Thank you for your response
Hey Bro great video I have a continuous problem with my 03/04 636 water/oil pump. Maybe you can help me out what the best way I can get in contact with you?
Just use a razor blade, but be very careful and don’t gouge the surface. After you get the hard stuff off, then use a clean rag with brake cleaner and wipe it make sure it’s all clean.
Such an easy bike to work on. I still love those early to mid "00" sportbikes. I work on all my bikes myself my entire life. But my S1000RR is a nightmare. I miss the good old bikes. Those were the days❤
Very informative bro no one goes into detail this much with the old 636 motors. Good work. Would love to see one of these when you do your yz125 top end as well
