I've been absolutely LOVING my book 4 ultra. This thing is a monster, it looks beautiful, feels great, has great build quality, and the display is unmatched. Appreciate this review for sure. All of the negative points were things I don't care about anyway. Touchpad? I always use a mouse anyway. Audio? I always use high quality headphones anyway. Fan noise? Can't hear it because of my noise cancelling headphones haha. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who has some money to throw at a high performing, great looking Windows machine.
I have the Ultra 3 from last year and I still would choose it over anything Apple. I don't lose sleep over fan noise, speakers or the ecosystem. I run the entire Adobe suite on it and it works for me. Are there complaints, sure, but I can never lock myself into apple's trap. Great review!
I've got a MacBook air m2 and a Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 and they're both superb machines. I am contemplating getting the Ultra 4 for gaming, since the Book2 Pro can't seem to keep up with the AAA games - although I must say I was pretty impressed with Baldur's Gate 3 and Death Stranding running on the m2 Air. That said, lots of great games on the Book2 like Ori and the will of the wisps! But they are both superb machines - mostly use the Mac for video editing with Final Cut Pro and word/excel. Clearly though, this Ultra4 is a gaming beast and perhaps the best Samsung laptop ever

And quite obviously for people who are vested in the apple's trap, I mean ecosystem, wouldn't think so. You don't need to oblige my guy. The 2nd available ssd slot in the Ultra edges it out over the mbp in my opinion. Also the better screen and gpu so Ultra for the win. The fact the 4050 even out performs the 18 core gpu on the Mac is alarming.

7:59 The Book4 Pro (non 360) does have a second m.2 slot aswell, at least the 16" does. I know because I took mine apart to check. It's in the middle though. Also, that vapour chamber in the middle is not needed on the non-ultra models because that's where the gpu is on the ultra, where on the pro versions there is no gpu.
I’m currently on an XPS 17 9700 which I like very much. I’m looking for a premium oled laptop as a replacement. Don’t really know if I should go for the new XPS 16, the Samsung Ultra Book 4 or a Razer Blade 16 with oled and the 4070. Use cases are productivity \ office, occasional gaming and video editing. as someone who always uses a wireless mouse with my laptops, I find myself barely ever using laptop touchpads at all except in occasional circumstances where there isnt enough space for a mouse (on an airplane, in car, etc). the touchpad is way too big and it wouldve been nice if they gave more of that room to the keyboard. half of the damn laptop is dedicated to the freakin touchpad lol.

La realidad es que la potencia que manejan hoy estos equipos, a nivel "General", cualquiera va a ser suficiente.
I think it's just a matter of what you do for a living or what you use the laptop for. I hate being off center but I have to use numbers a lot for work purposes and I can't stand not having the numpad. I suppose one could use a Bluetooth portable numpad when they need it.
Great reviews of this and 360 Pro. I am considering as in-camera interactive display to use in UA-cams. Hoping 32GB option will be added. 16GB is just not enough. Plan to use this vs. 15.6" display monitor, mainly for use of easy integration with Samsung S24 Ultra and Tap S9 Plus 5G. Hoping to catch a sale.
Gotta agree about the missed opportunities. Anything over $2K is out of my range, but if I was going to go that high I wouldn't want to compromise on anything, and there are too many places where this machine seems to be very close to the best it could be before they decided to cut a corner and turned a near-perfect device into one that's merely pretty great. What laptop(s) would you recommend me (entry point options that packs enough power to handle these tasks). I'll really appreciate your feedback. Thanks
Hi there Andrew, Quick question: is it too much of an improvement over the Book 3 Ultra? I'm considering the costs and just not 100% sold on the Book 4.
Andrew, really interesting review and thanks for spending your own cash on this laptop. Out of curiosity, how does this laptop compare to the Lenovo P1 Gen 6 and Z16 Gen 2? The Lenovos have a 4k Oled, although only 60 Hz.
I purchased the Samsung Book 4 Pro 360 with 16 GB of memory to replace my MacBook Air M2 as I need more screen space, but it could be a better option if they put 32GB or RAM; I have to give the Samsung back after one week. The laptop runs idle at 80% memory load, probably due to all the crap Samsung loads on it, and crashes in large Excel, like not showing some cells information or losing the cell selector, so you have to close and reopen the Excel. With Excel open, there is a 97% RAM load. Just for test I tried to open City Skyline 2, and I'm not talking about the play; it just crashes when you try to open the game.
Love your reviews as always ! As a current Book 3 pro 360 owner, would you recommend me switching over to the Book 4 Ultra now that they've added touch support ? Since I am writer and type alot, do you think that this screen wobble is an issue, especially in terms of durability over years?
Brilliant balanced review. I'm planning to buy this for video editing. Is it a good laptop for that - making video editing light work and performance speedy?
Of course I watched the video and I know you said the MacBook Pro is the better option. But that's not my question. I asked whether the Samsung Galazxy Book 4 Ultra is GOOD ENOUGH as a video editing machine (even if the MacBook Pro is better). Because not all of us want to convert to a Mac.@@mouyune

Thanks for your very informative and professional video 👍, it's a pity that the Intel Core Ultra 9 with RTX 4070 variant was not tested, especially here the comparison with the Dell XPS 16 (2024) would be interesting. Also interesting would be the comparison with the Razer Blade 16 (2024) is something planned here? What I also find strange is why the hell is Samsung using a Western Digital SN810 and not a Samsung SSD?
I’m so happy I have no interest in the ultra. Enjoy the video immensely but I’m just a noob and the power or lack there of would be wasted on me. Still very interested in a regular pro model still can’t wait for that video and I am still looking to get out of the Apple ecosystem completely :-)! Thank you for being honest and it is very concerning that the CPU is getting worse it makes me think how is that even possible?
The touchpad on Macs is amazing. Touch pad on Windows laptops are all terrible, 100%. From my experience, testing every Windows laptop in the entire computer store, it seems like there is a resolution problem. There is a tiny amount of movement that I can move my finger on the touchpad where the cursor does not respond at all. Then, I move my finger a little bit more and it overshoots the target. Then it's a game of trying to land my finger on a tiny target. I think a lot of people might not even notice this, or it just doesn't bother them. I'm a graphic artist. Imagine using Adobe Photoshop, and trying to hit those tiny control points on paths using the touchpad on a Windows PC that doesn't respond at all to the smallest movements. The smallest movements are the only way to hit those tiny targets. So the touchpad is useless, and it even aggravates me for much larger targets. I have a 2 year old Surface laptop. It's crap like all the rest. I only use it for consuming media, although with a mouse it worked fairly well 2 years ago to run Adobe software. But, after a year, it struggled to run the latest version of Photoshop, and everything runs poorly on it now. That last criticism is probably also true of my experience with Macs but I still love MacOS and the perfected experience of MacOS. Windows is just awful. It's a system to turn the consumer into a profit center for Microsoft. There's never anything new about Windows to be excited about. I think the most exciting thing about Windows for me in the past 15 years was probably that it recently has a clipboard that can handle multiple things. I had that on my Samsung phone 10 years earlier. It's nice to have though. It's clunky as shit, unpredictable where the clipboard window might pop up on the screen, but it's better than nothing.
I think while this is a good laptop, in comparison with the Dell XPS 16 (2024) I would definitely go with the Dell in my opinion. This version can get expensive while Dell usually will have sales from time to time on their website. In conclusion, not a bad laptop and certainly a step up from last year but expensive. While the quad speakers is a step up in performance, it is still no match in comparison to the MacBook Pro’s which is still the leader in speaker sound quality. Great review Andrew!! 👍😁
LOL why is everyone so against the number pad? 😂 I guess because im an engineering student and im always punching numbers, it is a very convenient for me than trying to use the tiny ones at the top of the keyboard
Nice Laptop with some not so good design flaws. Camera is good and speakers are good. Display is good. Keyboard layout is poor. Key travel appears shallow. Numpad poorly designed. Numpad layout is not condusive for fast numeric input. No large "Enter" or "Plus" key to the right of the numbers like a traditional number pad on a calculator. Also the numpad keys are smaller than the other letter keys. Samsung should either redesign it or completely remove as it in it's current design is somewhat functionally useless. All it does in its present design is take up space on this unit. MIcro SD card reader is okay. Most sd cards are sold with the adapter to full size cards and it is not a big deal to use it from a device that use full size sd card reader to this. Agree with you as far as memory goes. For the high price of this unit these manufacturers need to make these units with user upgradeable ram and wifi card slots. No excuse for these soldered in components. Performance may not be as fast as prior year models but it still will meet most users demands in it present state. One is obviously paying a premium price for the name Samsung on these units. Great review as always.

Thanks for your fantastic review. You do a lot of hardwork and I appreciate that. I have a question btw. I am looking to buy the Book 4 Pro 16 inch, and I am little worried about the screen wobble. Since I am writer and type alot, do you think that this screen wobble is an issue, especially in terms of durability over years?
I did notice a bit of screen wobble but nothing like last year's version.
finally ... please also review Asus rog zeyph g14 or g16
In the middle of testing
Brilliant balanced review. I'm planning to buy this for video editing. Is it a good laptop for that - making video editing light work and performance speedy?
Didn’t you watch the video , the better option is the MacBook Pro
Of course I watched the video and I know you said the MacBook Pro is the better option. But that's not my question. I asked whether the Samsung Galazxy Book 4 Ultra is GOOD ENOUGH as a video editing machine (even if the MacBook Pro is better). Because not all of us want to convert to a Mac.@@mouyune
@@mouyune Of course I watched the video. I know the MacBook Pro is the better option - but that was not my question my dear friend. So, I will rephrase my question for you "is the samsung galaxy book 4 ultra GOOD ENOUGH as a video editing laptop despite the macbook pro being the better laptop?" Not all of us want to convert from windows to being mac boffs.

Which one would you say is better the Dell or this one?
Thanks for your very informative and professional video 👍, it's a pity that the Intel Core Ultra 9 with RTX 4070 variant was not tested, especially here the comparison with the Dell XPS 16 (2024) would be interesting.
Also interesting would be the comparison with the Razer Blade 16 (2024) is something planned here?
What I also find strange is why the hell is Samsung using a Western Digital SN810 and not a Samsung SSD?
When are the new vivobooks coming?
Great review. Also please compare this with Lenovo Yoga pro 9i 2024.
One more here, please choosing between this two
How are they able to pull off this battery magic? It actually beats the XPS 16 with a much smaller batter? Doesnt make sense.
Anyone's free to comment, thanks in advance for the input!!!! 😀😀
Is there a reason why laptop engineers cannot put USB-C ports on both sides?
Why they dont use Samsung branded nvme storage instead of WD ones!
With charger possible
With battery ? Maybe next gen intel ....
Finally! A good quality review for the Samsing book ultra! Samsung still ways away from the macbook tho...
It's clunky as shit, unpredictable where the clipboard window might pop up on the screen, but it's better than nothing.
does this have the screen wobble issue like the galaxy book 3 ultra?
Not quite as bad
I think while this is a good laptop, in comparison with the Dell XPS 16 (2024) I would definitely go with the Dell in my opinion. This version can get expensive while Dell usually will have sales from time to time on their website. In conclusion, not a bad laptop and certainly a step up from last year but expensive. While the quad speakers is a step up in performance, it is still no match in comparison to the MacBook Pro’s which is still the leader in speaker sound quality. Great review Andrew!! 👍😁
Bang! It's gd ❤
*Wish it had Wi-Fi 7 and a 4K display.*
Please make a review on Asus ROG Zephyrus G16/14
Hello Andrew! Can you review HP 2024 Pavilion Plus 14-ew1058TU?
Does this have Optimus or advanced Optimus?
You are the MKBHD of laptop reviews
Thanks 🙏
Rather surprised Samsung didn't use their own nvme lol
For some reason Samsung chose to use Western Digital SSDs instead of Samsung SSDs
This is really stupid and confusing)
