This is a great watch and a great option as long as you’re not expecting it to do what a smartwatch like the apple watch and Samsung watch do. It is really not a smartwatch but more of a fitness tracker. I got one and became me main one.
I think this is what I want! I am smart, I don't need an assistant, I am not helpless and I don't need something to think for me. I need something to keep track of exercises and steps as I workout. Thanks for this awesome review!

I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. I think it's great but useless with barely a day with the apps being used. What good are the fancy apps if you cant use them? For the stuff I actually need 100% of the time, heart rate, SPO2, sleep, steps, workout tracking, this MOTO watch appears to fit the bill perfectly WITH the longer than a day battery! My Samsung cant even do that for barely a day.
I just got this smartwatch today. Thanks for reviewing the product. It has some downsides but for what I'll be using it for it just right. I got this for pretty cheap at my job so I'm not too disappointed at all.
As long as it does the job right - it is a great choice. Enjoy it!
@@TechMishka Yeah for fitness it'll be perfect. But I will eventually get a Samsung Galaxy 4 classic though so I can do other functions besides fitness

I believe they can fix a lot of things via the smartphone app and unlock some extra features. A kind of strange to see so many trackers and watches with face-gallery and it to be entirely missing on Motorola side...
I am looking into this watch because apparently it has a Wheelchair activity. Along with the GPS, it would be great to track my rolls this way. Hopefully they've updated the firmware to be a little more stable. I'm going to be using it with a TCL Stylo if I get it.
That's a feature which is indeed important. Let's hope it will work better!
@@TechMishka I got this watch today for my birthday. It's charging up now. :) So far the setup has been easy. It's a little late in the day to test the Wheelchair exercise, but it looks as though it should work fine. The real test will be if the GPS is reliable.
Unfortunately, I can report that the firmware is awful. Just ... Awful.
It's got a Wheelchair activity, but it logs the activity as Walking. And I haven't been able to sync for the past few days. I'm wondering if my rolls are too long, but the software should be able to handle a mile.
@@BrianHartman that's saddening to hear, was thinking about getting it because of that feature for my father-in-law and one for myself because of the simplistic software but your issue and the lack of google fit compatibility really are bummers :(
I still have my original 360 with a matching black milanese strap in very good condition. Sitting on my desk on its charging dock at 100% charge, classic.

@@TechMishka Смятам, че ако решат да направят нещо като Мото 360 часовника от 2019-20, но с поне 2 дена батерия, 1000+ циферблати и възможност за обаждания - ще се продава като топъл хляб. Иначе тц....

Better avoid this one.
You call them drawbacks but I for example don't even want a microphone, headphone jack, NFC chip or speaker. I want these features not on a watch that I intend on using as mainly that - a watch with decent sensors to track my daily stats and can still easily read off when being in bright mid-day's sun (would have loved to see more depth on viewing angle, readability under different light angles/brightness levels, etc.)
Would be a major drawback for me to spend extra on features I don't want or need, the watch faces and lack of automatic brightness adjustment are an inconvenience yet I personally see the incompatibility with google fit and the laggy interface to be the only real deal breakers - the lag problem in particular tho

Thanks for the detailed review. I'm surprised it cannot support android apps, i had the 360 2nd gen version and used to use tracking apps like strava and adidas runtastic, so this would be a downgrade not upgrade! Also, what about its battery life while enabling gps all the time? can it track running a full marathon without dying in the middle?
It is very different to the 360.series. they run WearOS, while here we talk about a fitness tracker with the look of a smartwatch.
None of the “downside” things are things I care about in a “smart watch”. The screen is too small to really take advantage of more “advanced” option. Great build quality and sturdiness is all I want. I HATE to look of the Apple Watch…and I am a big Apple fan.

I'm buying one to replace my old WaveCeptor that finally gave up the ghost. I don't need anything super fancy from a watch, the Moto 100 rounds out pretty much everything I need (and even a couple things I could live without, like the GPS) while being relatively cheap to buy new. Indeed, my Seiko 5 cost me more. I'm not buying it expecting NFC or the ability to make calls or respond to messages -- Frankly, I don't use NFC on my phone and leave it disabled, and I'd rather do the latter from my phone itself, but being able to see at a glance *who's* calling or texting or even e-mailing looks like a godsend, though I expect I'll get greater utility out of the latter by pairing it with my work phone. Looking at the framerate of the animations is a little disappointing, and I'm honestly quite skeptical of their two-week claimed runtime, and the lack of a standard port kind of bites -- I would have liked wireless charging -- but at this price point I don't feel I have much of a right to complain, given to get something similarly priced from Apple in particular would require me to buy a refurbished Series 3.
Yeah, overall - I think it is among the worst watches when it comes to user experience. The design and materials are pretty nice though.
Update after around a month in, the experience has been alright. It manages a bit over a week on battery for my use, sometimes comes unsynced notification wise, and is a little annoying in how slow it is, but it also is a very basic device with a very basic price. Honestly my mistake was more the strap I bought for it -- the magnetic clasp does not hold like it really ought to and I'm thinking about buying a traditional metal-link bracelet for it instead.
I need it for like physical activity.

Very, very good English. There is a slight accent though. What is your native language, if you don't mind? As of the review, I really like the objectivity. Pros and cons with no bias. I have a Moto G60 phone and I was looking for a compatible smartwatch, preferably the same brand. Pretty much $100 for this poor features. Strange, as Moto G60 is really good for its price.

This watch is not having too much Moto DNA though. Let's hope to see a next gen with more features.

There might be a possibility to make custom watch faces using the smartphone app. But I cannot recall seeing this.

Hola buenas tardes estoy teniendo un problema con el moto watch 100, tengo un moto g22 plus y no tengo manera de vincularlo con el reloj , restableci los valores de redes , restableci las apps y nada . El reloj me aparece cuando lo quiero conectar pero cuando do esta conectado me dice error en el pin o código de clave de acceso
Hey Alan, this is really annoying. Try to clear the app cache and make sure that location services are enabled while you try pairing.

No the watch faces are not very clear an the text font is very very small.
Looks a little like the original Tic Watches (the E?). Probably looks better in black, the silver looks very cheap IMO.
Nice specs though considering the price..really nice to have GPS on board too!
In reality it actually feels good and the material is not the same as the cheaper-feeling budget watches. But you are right - maybe the black version is more interesting.
The scrolling speed is very annoying, unfortunately.
My like is number 666. Thanks for information about Lenovo guts in the device. For people trying to avoid chinese products for political reasons it is important to know. I haven't even been aware of Lenovo had bought Moto back in 2015. That sucks.

Shame that is not compatible with Google Fit. In fact, when you want use GF, you must buy quite expensive watch. :/

Keep inind folks this is not a real smartwatch. It doesn't really sync with your phone. It's a fitness tracker, more or less.
I have the Moto 360 3rd Gen, which cost much more, battery only last a day. Talk about scratch resistance, it's the best. Damn thing doesn't scratch at all. No matter how many bumps and bangs. Great looking watch.

I wear Huawei GT 3 and am happy with it (non-wear OS). Galaxy Watch 4 is great. I doubt Galaxy Watch 5 will be a signifiant step up.

The sad reality is that having a good watch os and 2 week battery will probably never happen in this day and age of tech. The more we want out of something, the more battery is needs and consumes
Some watches have already capable operating systems and still last 10+ days.
@@TechMishka usually they are some but it's mostly fitness trackers tbh because I've never seen an apple watch os or wear os last 10+ days on a single charge let alone 5 days. But I know what you mean by what your saying.
