I watched so much RuPaul’s Drag Race 😂 I have also been focusing on appreciating what I have so I’ve been repotting, painting walls, actually reading the books I accumulated, “using up” and finishing things is a thousand times more satisfying it turns out 😅

I use SNS 209 Systemic. It is organic and made from rosemeric acid, made from rosemary. It worked great killing mealy roots and spider mites. Not harmful for other animals and etc! Love update!!!! Keep an eye on them for a couple weeks. Basically like putting a water prop into soil.

I always come back to water prop. It’s the most no fail for me. I like air layering too when I’m not lazy. I’ve always been really against systemic, but I also reached my breaking point this summer and bought some. I’m just over the thrips and spider mites. I also couldn’t keep up with the expense of predatory bugs. I can be so hard on myself sometimes about taking the easy way out but sometimes that’s what’s best for my mental health.
Hi Pam, to get rid of gnats, spider mites and others, I’m trying a new method. Wood matches the critters don’t like sulphur and also keep your coffee grind that you use to make coffee with and dry it out and sprinkle a tiny bit, apparently it keeps the critters away cause they don’t like the smell. I started to try it and it seems to help, because so far I don’t see none.
For trailing plants like Epipremnum, Scindapsus and Philodendron Hederaceum, I prefer to propagate directly into soil! I've been trying out rooting in perlite using no-drainage vessels and I'm really enjoying it. I want to play around with it more and maybe even try a technique I haven't heard of before with it, I just have to buy more perlite. Water just doesn't do it at all for me anymore. So soil is my go to usually, but I feel like perlite is very close behind it. I used to love using sphagnum moss but I cannot stand picking it off the roots. I repotted a Monstera cutting yesterday that I rooted in moss and I hated myself for it every second. :^) I'm only going to be using sphagnum for air-layering now.

I love the interior of your house it looks so witchy! Those are some really pretty plants as well. I love the fact that they're a little wonky, it gives them character. But my fingers were itching to do some propagating when I saw them I must admit! 🌿🌿 I propagate in water mostly, but have some propboxes with moss.
Favorite prop method is multi step… start in water, then perlite or pon once roots get started. Then finally to chunky soil once I have a robust root system with plenty of secondary roots. Also, I’m starting to get into integrated pest mgt since your video and I’m hoping I can keep it going thru the winter!!
When the read feels that long, it’s probably because you’re not really enjoying it. That happens to me sometimes because I’m incapable of stopping a book mid-read and then it’s like a job to get through it lol
I have a love-hate relationship with long winded authors. I usually find I enjoyed the overall story but some chapters can be a slog. I will give up on a book if I’m never sucked in tho. Life is too short!
It’s so refreshing to hear you say your plant style is “neglect” haha girl, same! Also, mental health comes first and sometimes, I don’t feel like taking care of 150ish houseplants. 😂 but because of it, dealing with a thrips outbreak. Beneficial pests seems overwhelming to me but I just might have to look into it if Captain Jacks deadbug + systemic don’t end up working. Anyway, I use perlite, sphag, or just water, all depending on the plant I’m proping. 😊
That combo should work just fine, and prob a little faster than IPM. You will never catch me bullshitting y’all about something as fundamentally unimportant as houseplants. Im as sick of the toxic faux perfection on social media as you probably are! Some of my plants look like shit. Sometimes I just throw away plants I probably could save. love to prop in water then transfer to soil. I found my choco red does well in self watering pot even if you don't have a lot of humidity ,if the soil is moist its happy . I don't have the brains for hydro lol I do like leca and pon for propagation especially for Hoyas . that works well.

I do have a perlite prop box that does do well for string of hearts,to make many plants rather than one string in water. I use moss occasionally. Water is my fav. Thank you for this video 🤩😍🤩😍
I have two favorite prop methods, after trying most. My first favorite, since discovering the magic that comes inside the Rapid Start bottle, is RO water. My second favorite is Fluval Stratum (a soil media for planted fish tanks). Sometimes I use it plain, sometimes I will mix it with Pon, and sometimes I will layer it with a thin layer of activated charcoal on the bottom with a small amount of leca on top of that, then the rest with stratum (in clear plastic disposable cups). The latter seems to work the best for me.
I keep hearing about the fluval stratum! Like just this week I keep coming across it. You know that thing where you go your whole life without hearing a word and then suddenly you hear it everywhere. That’s happening 😂
I'm very veryyy hands off, so I when I notice vines going everywhere, I just cut them up then put them in water. I don't even replace the water, I just top them up when I notice leave going dry.

Water. I propogate in spring water (or filtered). Any other method, end up with rotted cuttings. Can I ask what you're using for systemic? Love your channel.
Nice looking plants - I've been repotting most of my plants to get ready for the winter - also purging plants (giving them away) and decluttering the home - it's sad we collect things all of our lives just to have to declutter them I wish I would of known this when I was younger. I listen to a ton of audio books but I haven't read any good ones lately, I'm just going to start Undaunted Courage by Stephen E. Ambrose about the Lewis and Clark expedition hope it's good.
Ugh I’m such a hobby related collector I have way too much stuff but I also actually use the stuff for the most part, just not often, so it’s so hard to get rid of!!

My philodendron Plowmanii is a crawler. so I need a long pot to keep it going.
I still use water to propagate. It works for me.

Dude. I hated leca except for as a propagation medium. All the plants I put in leca came right back out after a year or so. #adhd #neurospicy
