Also should’ve clarified - our grocery “budget” is more of a buffer! We don’t spend that amount every single week, but we allow for it in case we need more one week or need to stock up on things. Also a good tip - if one week you’re under budget, roll whatever you saved into the next week! That’s how we’re able to prioritize organic/clean foods most often! Thought I’d make note of that because I know groceries are expensive for everyone.

It easily becomes overwhelming. Simply take one room at a time and give yourself a little space in between projects. One the washer dryer and fridge are full , the beds, bath and kitchen will help you get settled easily. I spent a lot of time starting fresh on lawn and garden.

We just PCS’d to our new base and lost 1300 sqft from our last house so I’m overwhelmed with where to put things or store them 😂 So happy to find a vlog to watch while I open our boxes.

Use the drawer underneath the oven for baking sheets or pots/pans! That way you free up another cabinet 🙂 also if you moved his desk upstairs to an extra room, I think it would look nice to center the bookshelves on that wall!

I don’t know why I didn’t even think about the drawer underneath the oven!! The desk has to stay downstairs though 😭 one of our rooms is packed full of things we have to store (like childhood boxes, holiday decor, etc.) Our last house had a huuuge storage closet and this one is limited on the storage space. The other room is going to be a guest room with a bed, nightstands, and I think the entryway table from the last house 😅 I definitely agree with you though, so I’ll keep playing around!

    Good video✨
Put all your paper in wardrobe boxes and break down your small boxes put the in the garage or main level & the company should come out to take it. Debris pick up is what it’s called. One time pick up so make sure you’re done. No personal trash because it goes in a compactor. FYI. 🙂

Which room do you unpack first? I always tackle the kitchen first because it’s so nice to be able to eat meals together - even if the rest of the house is absolute chaos 😂

It has to be the bedroom for us because even though we walk into the house and see chaos, we at least can rest peacefully. Kitchen is the next on the list, for sure.

That’s a great place to start too!! I always notice that I can’t sleep well when our room is a mess or things are out of place.

I live in the same housing! But prob a different other since we have a 4 bedroom. My husband made the downstairs closet into the pantry and added more shelves!!

I’ve been seriously considering turning that closet into a pantry!!

I don’t think I’ve tried kerrygold butter, I’ll have to check them out! My husband and I usually spend $150-$200 every two weeks! and on the first of the month we try to stock up on drinks 😊

Us too!! Everything is so expensive now, I can’t even just go in the store and wing it lol I have to write out my exact list and not veer off or I’ll have a heart attack when I get to the register 💀

How did you get everything shipped? I’ll be living on base with my husband but I’m not sure if we can go in and out for groceries or buying things/getting mattresses and furniture. I think I left a comment on your other video but I have so many questions 😅😅. Did you hire movers for the mattress/furniture?

As long as you’re married and receive your dependent id, you can come and go on/off base as you wish! There’s a grocery store on most bases, but you’re free to shop off base too!! The military arranged movers for us for all of our furniture!

Hello! So, I found you on TikTok and subscribed to your channel from there. I have so many questions. My husband is about to active duty for the first time, and this is a whole new experience. We are excited to take on this journey, and I should let you know how thankful I am for your page. It puts things into perspective, and provides some insight. I LOVE IT. One question: do you know what your house will look like prior to your move, or is it all surprises walking through the door?
