Sorry for being away for so long. This install has taken up a tremendous amount of time and energy. I did film at various points along the way to share, however the next few vids will be missing various steps and details. Lots of work. I feel your pain. Looking better though. We are getting a lot done on our boat as well. Man I need to get some videos up.. what insulation is that? I'd like to redo my engine room insulation
Its just a foam backed insulation. Its not really sound deadening but it does keep all the old soundproofing from falling into the bilge and makes the space a bit cleaner. You can get various ones on Amazon very cheap. You need to catch up on the videos! LOL. amzn.to/3Ruu0ot
why use wood? why not pvc or starboard?
Both of those would be great too. But the epoxy coated wood was very stiff and I had all materials on hand. IMO the PVC sheets and Starboard aren't quite as rigid for the same thickness. I have used starboard a bunch and I love it. Started using PVC recently and for some stuff that works great too. For my battery trays I used 1/2 birch that had several layers of Biaxial fiberglass and those came out super strong.
