Its all about mindset. Europeans are not satisfied to accept the status quo. Instead of thinking "well, it works ok so don't bother trying to improve it" we will be constantly trying to find ways to make things better. There are countries still stuck in the stone age, using ox to pull ploughs etc only producing enough food to feed their own families instead of getting together and building infrastructure to feed a nation with enough left over to sell to other countries. If you want to build a country that becomes rich you have to think big, think outside the box and cooperate with each other.
I’m American and I hate having to drive everywhere, especially in Florida, everything was designed to be spaced out so we could all have our space. Now they’re trying to build the cities more dense because surprise! Driving 45 minutes to a grocery store sucks lol. But now the more populated areas get so congested. Everytime I see crazy videos about the subway though, I’m glad I have a car but, we have been asking for public transportation for a long time to no avail.
Parking at home can even be difficult in parts of Europe. For example, some older british streets are built in terraced housing, so there is only room for 1 car outside each house. When the residents become multi-car households, it can become a major problem. My great uncle was the first person on his street to own a car. Now most of the houses on that street are multiple occupancy student houses. If you need to visit a business in that area, public transport is your best option.

The railway network in Europe at the start of the video were only the high speed train lines. Every country also has a dense national train network.
The same can be said of the highway map
It's actually the map from the "interrail" homepage. Basically just a symbol picture of where you could travel with it.
