It’s really Beautiful….! I have a 71 Karmann Ghia Coupe I purchased from a friend that had it sitting in his yard with a window open, and had not been running in around seven years….! I patched up the floorboards put new seats in it , and it is my everyday driver….! What a Great Sled…! It Always starts , always runs…👍🏻❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I truly love this Ghia😍😍 beautifully restored and customized. The perfect stance and perfect wheel combination, shortened front beam 👍 the standard beetle steering wheel looks killer on this car. Have fun with it 🎇🍀👍
Very sweet video! 👍👍 It’s a great car, a really nice guy, a good story about how it all came together and the community around that… and then the obvious sense of fellowship between you two and the others we see and hear about. Thank you. 🙏 I owned a 67 Beetle way back in the 70s, did all the work that she needed for five years, except for mounting tires on rims. Took her on one cross country trip with my wife, from Florida to a family reunion in southern Indiana, and then, on two lane county roads, all the way to Chicago and back. Good memories. Thanks for providing the spark that brought them back to the surface! ❤
I'm viewing this from New Zealand. I spent my childhood in the 1960s. I had a school friend , and he had an Aunt who drove VW Karman Ghia in the late 1960s. It was in beautiful condition i remember and it was left hand drive too. I like yours .
My everyday drive is a 1969 Karmann Ghia Convertible. I love the car and the look. My first car was a 1960 VW Bus. My second car was a 1963 VW Squareback. It was brought over to the US from Germany.
In high school at age 16, I drove a 1964 K-G. Endured the low power motor until I could save up enough for an EMPI header and other minor tweaks. Enjoyable car which handled reasonably well and gave excellent fuel mileage. A poor boy's Porsche.
He does talk about it in the full interview but I had to edit it down. Basically early Ghias had a sloping front guard and the headlight is more centered ion the guard, making it a low light. Later Ghia had the headlight more at the top of the front guard. Let me know if you'd like to see the full 45 minute interview. Thanks for watching :)
Attention!!!! Unfortunately, all petrol cars will soon be banned in the EU and the USA! In France there is a new law prohibiting combustion engine cars called SCHLABOUBVE and in Switzerland the HESCHLAVVO law! In the Scandinavian countries there will soon be a so-called SMORVERBIDEN law) for Germany there will probably be a federal exhaust gas ban ordinance from 2027.

I wish I saw this when I went to Brisbane instead of losing all my $ at the casino !😂
Haha, both are money pits :)
Yeah...
Why didn’t the car move when he got in is it stiff or does he not weigh anything
Bit of both I think! Thanks for the comment :)
I watched this entire video hoping to discover why a "low light" Ghia is called a low light Ghia....
Beautiful car, btw! I like the oval as well!

Very cool lowlight! But an odd name for the website: Purist to me signals originality not modifications like this VW certainly has been.
Subscribe to my channel and you will start to see what I'm a purist about.
Nicely done, but those wheels. I think my bicycle has wider tires on it.
4.5" & 5.5" Fuchs. A classic combo.
