Once they have existing production lines price will go down so now more will be ordered specially to special forces of state police
They'll order in slots. Slowly they'll replace them with legacy items
Defence aquisition in India doesn't work like this. Total requirement will be fulfilled in batches, not in one go. With limited defence budget, everything has to be taken care of, not just few things.

While social media today is surely at a whole new level compared to a decade back, still it is thrilling to know things we were not aware of at all. Army vehicle meant Maruti Gypsy or Jonga, Stallion or Shaktiman. And the notorious Tatra.
The idea of armoured light vehicles was not in public consciousness at all. Great to see all these nuances in vehicle characteristics, and Indian manufacturers stepping up to fulfill them!!!

Dude later versions of Humvee were better armoured. Plus the Humvee came in a GM 6.2 or 6.5 litre V8 normally aspirated diesel or turbo diesel engines. This Mahindra has an Austrian built Steyr inline 6 cylinder. And above all, Humvee is a legend because it is battle-hardened unlike this vehicle. I have nothing against it or Mahindra but still........

Whats the deal with the oversized rivets ??? I hope these dont become shrapnel and injure the occupants when attacked with IEDs. Many UK Army landrovers had to be redesigned with proper rivets to avoid this flaw seen during desert storm.

I think GoI consider ordinance factories like vehicle factory of no use because GoI is not interested in any research and development in ordinance factories so that they themselves can develop such vehicle which can benefit workers of these factories as well.
Allowe more units of armoured vechicles to indian army. These type of vechicles are the face of modern armys
we need kalyani m4 in these huge numbers that would be a game changer then Rashtriya rifles and ci operations would be safer and could decrease casualties safety of soldiers is very important and no amount of money can match the price of a human life

Making a vehicle like this is not a challenge. The real challenge is in making tanks, aircraft, artillery etc.
Private players are not entering that sector

This Vehicle has Stnag-2 level of protection, so from guns absolutely 👍🏻 it can stop 7.62×39mm and a decent mine protection system.

On a task given by defence took more than 10 years yet failed to deliver quality
A private car company takes 2 years to supply the first lot of armored cars after getting the order and people cry themselves hoarse blaming HAL for taking 3 years from order date to supply fighter jets.
Never ever Mahindra vehicle for daily use. In a span of 4 years, changed Kuv 100 and then SUV 300. Regret !
