Totally agree about Turathi Blue. I thought it would be the blue that finally convinces me, that it would have Eau Givree-level of grapefruit excellence, but it was too ambroxan heavy. Gifted it to my brother who loved it luckily!
Yeah totally agree with you my friend. It’s just too sweet and not a real fresh fragrance . Some people like that grapefruit not but it has nothing to do with the fresh realistic note of eau givree 🫶
The longer I am collecting fragrances the more I realize that there isn't enough time in life to wear 7/10 fragrances. So I understand saying that even something that smells good can be a bad buy. Versace Pour Homme and Chanel Allure Homme Sport for example, two fragrances I loved as a beginner and I still love smelling them. But why would I wear them when they don't last more than 2 hours? Kind of the same reason I'm moving away from buying dupes, even if the original is only 10% better, but why would I wear the worse version? I've never had a truly bad blind buy fortunately. I've had quite a few bad seeing buys (is this what you would call the opposite of blind buy? 😂) because I am very impatient, I will usually buy a perfume instantly when I like the top note. Which is a pretty stupid thing to do. Also great point on thinking about what kind of fragrance you need in your collection. It's a typical beginner mistake.
You really got the point my friend . First of all it’s just to much juice to get through in your lifetime and you should really concentrate on fragrances that you absolutely love and that move you . And also your point on allure Homme Sport and Versace pour Homme is so right . Some fragrances are nice to wear as a beginner but when your nose develops you expect a bit more of a fragrance than just being fresh and clean . And nowadays I would always really always go for the original. It is just more fun to wear than a dupe and it’s the original art and i never had a dupe of a fragrance that really moved me in any way . Wouldn’t want to call Bois imperial a dupe because that would be the only one 😄 and yeah that can happen to when you just smel something in store and love it and take it back home . I never really had that because I go to the store so often that I always spray fragrances on me that I want to try and just buy them if I liked wearing them on skin
Thanks for sharing your insights/experience, Paul! I agree on your view and I am more into sampling now and only in case I am convinced I get a full bottle now. By the way: In case you want to sell your "At the Barber's" I am interested. I really like this scent, but it's discontinued.
Hey Wolfgang , That’s a healthy approach to this hobby . You really have to get to know a scent before buying a full bottle . It always makes me a bit sad to see thousands of bottles in a collection that are not really used. We could definitely arrange that . Make me a good price and it’s yours :) you life in Germany right ?
Hi Paul, actually I am living in Austria (if that is not a dealbreaker already). Maybe it is best to discuss it further via Parfumo. What is your username there? Thanks and kind regards, Wolfgang
So true! Just because you like a scent doesn’t mean you’ll wear it. Maybe you have too many of them that are similar, maybe it’s just not special enough. You mentioned you sold your blind buys. I was wondering how you did it cause I have quite a few too just hanging out on a shelf.
I totally agree with you . Sometimes you own a scent and every time you smell it from the automizer you love it but with time you see that you just prefer other scents more to wear on a daily base . I think that is totally normal if you have a lot of fragrances but its a bit enoying if you spend a lot of money on it . I sold my blind buys through parfumo and mostly ebay and besides one fragrance i had no problems selling them and getting quiet a good price on them :)

Good Morning my Friend ...What is your Opinion about Armaf Sillage , Armaf Millestone ? Some people tell me to buy them , but i want your opinion because we have the same taste .
To be completly honest with you don't like them that much because i think they smell cheap in comparison to other fragrances. I would always go for other fragrances like Xerjoff Mefisto or something similar. i can appriciate them more than the armafs :)
@@50scents_ I want honesty from u that's why I appreciate u so much. So it's better to spend to Xerjoff some more than get these Armaf... Turathi Blue was my only real blind buy and I hated it. I don't even think it is a nice freshy like you and most other people say. It was just disgusting, I had to wash it off. Additionally, the plastic socket of the cap glued to the flask went off. I sent it back immediately
Oh and from Pacific Rock Moss I got a small sample and also found it to be rather disgusting. It reminded me of a synthetic citric candy combined with soap
Yes you really have to like that sweetness in there and I don’t really appreciate it as much as well . It’s just not catching me at all and I get your point :)
Yes I gifted it to my mother last weekend . She enjoys that kind of smells but I really don’t . A fragrance needs more character for me to work even fresh fragrances

There is nothing blue about Turathi Blue, it's a Bvlgari Tygar clone.
It’s an out of the shower smell , so for me it’s a blue fragrance 😄👌
