My very first sweetheart was a farm girl🤗🤗. We would go on long drives together off into the sunset as we rode our bicycles & shared a grape soda... I thought we knew everything about the world, even though we were only 12 yrs. old I look forward to 4-H meetings every Thursday and Saturday night just to see her.

Dad is a tease with that water. You held up just great. Those pivots are pretty fascinating, and I know they need to checked often, and a lot of work goes into their maintenance. Really enjoy watching you work with your Dad and have fun at the same time. Keep up the great videos ❤️😊

3:00 - Love how you are causally talking to the camera and I bust out laughing as can see your Dad slowly raised the water closer and closer to you but didn't have a clue it was coming. That was awesome. I needed that laugh. Thanks. Oh, moisture-wicking neck gators (when worn over the head like a bandana) help with the keeping hair in place, but also sweet dry pretty quick (if moisture-wicking, not 100% cotton) especially is a wind of riding the ATV or a breeze. I find hats just get nasty and smelly after a while. The neck gators just toss in the wash and good to go again. I have a few of them I use when outdoors all day.

    Probably too late to comment.
Point one. Probably the most versatile repair or fastening medium we use is inner tube. From tractors or trailers, even motorbikes. That leak on the pivot hub can be stopped by simply cutting 1" wide strips of inner tube into long strips. Then strapping the leak. The tension of the stretched inner tube compresses and counters the water pressure.
Point two. I see you are using the Senninger generation one nozzles. I strongly recommend you upgrade to generation 3. So easy to clean and quick. Simple clip ins.
I farm 340ha in Moçambique. We prefer the Reinke pivots. They give no hassle. I do have a Valley pivot on one field though.
Save the inner tubes and use for quick fixes. I even tie stuff on my bike with inner tube strips.
Last point. I really enjoy following your youtube. Very up beat and creative.

Laura, Beautiful Laura. Your dad would rather hurt himself than ever see you hurt. So, it isn't any wonder he'd climb pivots etc rather than have you. Laura you can't please all of the people all of the time. Some are just prone to nit picking, complaining, whining etc. Having to explain I drink water too and down a bottle on cam isn't going to appease those morons. Great stuff Laura.

"Noisebuster" Electronic Noise Cancelling Safety Earmuffs are great for hearing protection. I had a pair for 10yrs. When they broke, I used my David Clark ENC aircraft headset since I don't fly anymore. Wear a tight fitting scarf for your hair on windy days, but not near rotating machinery of course. My mom always wore a silk scarf in the wind. Low lying wet areas that can't be filled in with soil from somewhere else makes good wildlife habitat. You're doing just great! It all takes time.

Great Video Laura. You are smart to be serious about hearing protection. Damage you do now won't show up until you are older and it's way too late. You might want to consider some higher quality ones. I had earplugs custom made to fit my ears. They are more comfortable and block out sound much better than the disposable ear plugs. They also allow me to hear people talking but still block out the harmful sounds . Sometimes it can be dangerous to not be able to hear your surroundings.

You have shown several old pivots that you are going to junk out. When I was on the farm I would make livestock panels out of them. So a pipe on top and bottom with angle iron spaced to make the panel and weld hog panels welded to the angle iron or use the truss rods to fill in the space between the pipes. Be careful when welding galvanized iron. I would use a box fan to suck the smoke away from the weld. Sucking is better than blowing the smoke

Okay, pivots. Each set of wheels travels a different distance around the circumference of the arc, so they each have to travel at a different speed to stay in line. So, is the speed of each set of wheels controlled by gearing, or electronic control of drive motors? What kind of feedback mechanism ensures that the wheels are driving right and the pivot stays aligned? Also, how are the spray nozzles compensated so that some areas are not flooded and some areas are dry? Are you setting up that pivot for a winter cover crop, or just getting it tuned up for the next season?

So is the watering controlled on each spray nozzle head so as to have even watering? Since the outer end tower has to cover more ground than center end tower less. If all nozzles spray the same amount then the center will get a lot more water then the end.
So I see y'all driving your trucks, atv, and such over the field. How does that not kill all the plants?

Not so much for rain I'm afraid. Water just runs down your skin whereas long hair prevents your skin from getting wet for a while and can drive water away from you if it's over some rainsuit or something similar. Ask me how I know.

Keep up the ear protection, when I was your age it wasn't a thing. I now spend £1000s on hearing aids and having to watch TV and Movies with subtitles. Whilst its occasionally funny when I misunderstand what somebody say in reality it can be confusing and parties etc are a real turn off. So its great to see you being so sensile at the start of your career :-)

    "I need a rainsuit"
"I wanna go to the lake"
    🤔

Hey there, just found your channel about a month ago so I'm going through and looking at some of your old videos and loving all of them. In reference to your earplugs, they look like the foam kind you get. If you're going to be wearing earplugs a lot might I suggest you consider going to an audiologist, You know a guy who makes hearing aids. For some types of hearing aids they actually do mold impressions of your ears to send them off to a lab to make the hearing aid. Even though I spent several years working in rock and roll I don't need hearing aids Because I actually went to a guy and got custom molded earpieces for myself. Not only do I have earplugs that are custom molded to my ears but I also have special molds designed to fit old style Apple Earbuds, sadly the new earbuds Design don't work With ear molds. But you can get some molds for other types of earbuds that use the rubber housings that go in your ear. Anyway it's just a thought I know I love mine and I often times forget I am wearing them because they're so comfortable because they're molded to my ears. Keep up the great work in the great videos, thanks.
