  • Do you get stuck in the bucket? Do you know what that means? If you finish the swing and your hips aren’t above your shoulders many people call that getting stuck in the bucket. This will have negative impacts on your invert, turn, push off, and of course your PR.
    In a prior video we discuss strength testers and how to build enough strength to swing and invert properly. If you have enough strength snd still struggling in today’s video we go over the technical aspects of swinging properly and avoiding the dreaded stuck in the bucket position.

    I wish I had you as my coach when I was a coachless D1 athlete. All I needed to hear was this, but then again, youtube was just starting out in the earlier 2000s era...

    What exercise is best to teach a vaulter to engage their back muscles...drills to do at home possibly? How do you show an athlete how to engage their back muscles? Appreciate any additional insight here

      Thanks! What do you mean about realignment. Like getting the hands back in front after a flat take off?

      I always try and think about leverage

      @@ApexVaulting Yes, pretty much that. The driving forward or pressure with your top hand or arm.

    I jump 14' 6" as a freshman but im in a slump because i block my shoulders after my plant causing my self to be late and end up flagging out a bunch
