TC Gabriel Foil Surf Bay Run
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- This is from Monday of the TC Gabriel swell of February 2023. First wave back on the 120 in a while and took a little getting used to and was fighting the offshore wind to stay up with the speed of the swell sometimes. Unfortunately got boxed-in a bit by the whitewater at the start, I always try to get outside the breaking waves as early as possible in these runs but poor wave selection got me this time.
Big thanks to the legend Ben Tayler for the footage - highly recommend you check out his channel @foilfilms for the primo foil content.
Riding:
AmosShapes 4 6 32L Raptor
Lift 120HA
FoilParts long fuse adapter
NoLimitz 78 mast
Kujira 158 tail
EPIC run! Howdy from Texas!
Howdy! Thanks yeah it’s amazing when everything lines up
I think the most important lesson for PFer's was your Wave Duck at the end. Trying to hang on to your board would not have ended well. Thanks for sharing your session!
Yep I got smoked here at the end. Try to find a spot with no one nearby to come in incase this happens. You hit that foamy water and lose all speed and the wave eats you
Nice work.
I have an injured left shoulder and it’s been very hard to heal it and paddle to catch my waves. Every day I think I must migrate to Foil or I will end up sitting on the couch.
I have similar problems with both my shoulders from past injuries so feel your pain. Foil is so good for minimising paddling and maximising ride time and the best exercise to fun ratio of any activity i have ever tried, highly recommend you migrate
Very very long way to Go back !!
Yep 3km+, always good to
Go with a friend so you have someone to walk back with and debrief on the run
sick
bro it can go surprisingly fast 💪🏻
Nice one yet again!!
Keep ‘em coming mate.
Thanks mate, just getting started here haha
Did you take a bus back to the point? You covered miles! It's amazing!
Nope just walked back, pretty long way and am pretty tired after a lap like this
Wow, what an epic run. I think you would of been hurting on the 90ha
Thanks mate. Yeah I did two of these runs the day before on the 90 and was hard work and thought it would be even harder this day with a strong headwind and tired legs so opted for the 120
What gear are you on, looks like you’re on a fairly big (slow) front wing given how you’re needing to pump such a lot in what lols like beautiful conditions.. no criticism, still a great vid, just curious…
im on the lift 120a (780cm2) but there is a strong off shore 15knots headwind and the deep water ocean swell are moving very fast and with the wind you dont always go fast enough to stay with it and fall off the back so have to top it up with some pumping
@@camjrdn6318 Nice work, wow 780 and hanging to pump so much, just goes to show how what looks ideal is anything but hey… great run all the same…
so freekin sick, what remix is this track? what an edit, aloha!
thanks mate, it is Purple Pill remix of The Wall
Cool to see a wipe out and what happens after. How do you get back up when you're out there?
That’s one of the goals of the bay crossing is to not come off foil because it can be really hard to get going again if you fall because how crowded the waves are which are also head high barrels where it’s almost impossible to make the drop with 200 surfers around you
what the epic sogn ?
Pls
Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall dance remix
Two questions. 1. Where is this in the world? 2. How did you film it?
Hey mate, the spot is a placed called Byron bay, Australia’s most easterly point, check it out on google maps and you can see the full run I did here. It was filmed by my mate @foilfilms on drone.
what size of mast are you using?
Using the nolimitz 85cm mast this session to stay high and dry
We can do this launched in by boats
Mr Bennetts?
this is me riding here, not Mr Bennetts 🤙
@@camjrdn6318 My bad.
for how long u doing this?
Pretty much 2 years exactly when I had this session 🤙🏽
Not enough tough power to get out again. Boring.
Sorry brah 😘
