Hi, Quick question on the recommended motor. As per the manual, 2814 motor is recommended but you are using 2212 motor in this video and your power pack has also 2212 motor. Which motor do you recommend? 2212 vs 2814? The fuse hole size is too tight to mount the 2814 motor due to the motor cable.
In the video, we flew with 2212 motor with a simple configuration. If you are planning to add payloads, you should find a motor that can carry your setup. Simply equal thrust with flight weight is going to be okay. Actually there is no a perfect motor for this model since its a wide purpose use, heavy duty plane.
Nice job, congratulation. Speaking about stability do you think that this model is more stable with respect to your ORCA FPV V2 printed at the same wingspan size? In terms of speed which is the slowest flying? Thanks!
I am glad you respect Orca! Thank you for your interest. Of course, Discover is way slower than Orca even if it's 3 times heavy. If it could be the same wingspan, probably still it would be more stable and slower than Orca because of the top wing design. Orca is also very stable as you think but it's a mid-wing flying wing so Orca doesn't try to keep horizontal. That is a top-wing configuration characteristic and always trying to keep parallel to the ground. Orca can fly reversed without loosing speed or performance but Discover can't. This is the mid-wing advantage so you can fly acrobatic, and you can roll fast. The Discover is just peaceful. It's the best platform for FPV long-range, Cinematic shots, and autonomous missions. I think its also very god Trainer for sure...
We do not give a percentage value for CG. CG is 55mm from the Leading Edge for Discover. It is written on page 2 of the PDF Manual. Additionally, the CG dot is embossed at the bottom of the wing. There is always a trace for CG in our models.

noisy prop equals WRONG prop. the mass of wing-located servos should be located forward-of thirty percent of chord. putting quick connectors at control horns is not recommended. because, it is preferable to Not locate the mass of those (metal) components distant from the cg and center line. in order to avoid starving the prop, the design of the tail forward-of the motor should have a minimal cross-sectional area. it is not clear whether the anhedral design of the wingtips is a Bad one.! d
4s 3300s lipo with GoPro7 will make the model heavier than that the 2212 motor can carry. It is very simple, build the model and check the weight and compare with the thrust if its equal or close.

If I use speedybee FC, GPS, DJI vtx/O3, 4S 3300mah lipo and Gopro 7 in this plane, 2212 motor is okay to fly this plane?
