This episode has a universal appeal, it will help any listener (student, MBA, non-MBA, professional etc) understand various dimensions of how interviews work be better equipped for managing themselves in current and future scenarios.
This episode is amazing! I'm not an PhD and I think a lot of what was said in this episode applied so much in my life. Like believing the misconception people put in your head. Just because a lot of people say it is true, does not mean it is actually true.
As always impressive insights from Michael ! ....One thing I really loved is that the dimension of this episode is much beyond PhDs and MBAs and Management Consulting... In my view, everyone (especially Parents, Teachers, Professors, Siblings, Bosses, Leaders in every space...) should be listening to this for choice of their words can unconsciously and deeply impact what an individual think of one's potential. Thanks FC Team!
Hmmm, and this expectation mismatch cuts across fields of study, race and background. I have a parallel question: can you do an episode the replaces "PhD Students" with "African Male Students"? I really appreciate insights on this.
Having a PhD does not neccessarily mean one is without business background. I am doing a PhD in marketing and my research area is in traditional marketing. In addition, I have a BSc in supply chain management and MSc in marketing.
great episode, and i think the tv show is ugly betty haha. Not sure what the book on consulting you mentioned is though, if anyone knows please tell me i'd like to go find it
Hi Ekanem, because we have over 6,000 episodes we don't know which book Michael mentioned. But it most likely were one of the books out of a list of books Michael recommends www.firmsconsulting.com/quarterly/best-strategy-books/
