I'm a convicted felon and had a domestic violence charge from a fight with my brother-in-law. And after over 15 years of changing my life, getting off of a 10-year drug addiction, I got my record expunged just laat year, and now I legally own, concealed carry, and train with pistols and various other guns.
Well done!
@@ASPextra thanks. Your channel has been my guiding hand to learn the ethics and ways of a self defender, not just a felon with a gun. John I'm not even joking this channel has been a godsend for me. Thank you and your team for both channels, and for everything you do. God Bless.
🤙 good stuff, keep on the path of being a good, sane, sober, moral and prudent person (as John likes to say 😄)
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.
I like that
I am a libertarian myself. So i get it.
Yeehaw, pardner! As a historian and a Texan, I am of the opinion that the "Wild West" has never really gone away. Stay strapped, cowpokes!
We had a different case here in California a few years ago. If I remember correctly, the guy was a convicted felon, but his parole had expired, and he was a prohibited possessor indefinitely. If I remember right the original conviction was drug related. Anyway, a decade later he has turned his life around if I remember right owned a business, and he's walking down the street, I think in the Bay Area (Oakland? San Jose? not certain) when some random guy, obviously having mental issues, runs at him screaming and waving a knife. He pulled a gun he illegally owned and shot the guy dead. The local cops investigated, announced publicly that the guy was justified in killing the individual...and then arrested him for being a prohibited possessor but having a handgun. Last I heard he was in prison.
I'm to the point now where if someone has been convicted of a felony, I want them to serve their full sentence in prison, and I want that sentence to be long. Currently we have a revolving door system here in California for all but the most serious crimes, and they're trying to "reform" that even. Once the person's out, though, I'm having trouble figuring out how the person has the right to freedom of speech and religion and against illegal search and seizure (I mean after parole has expired), how do they regain all those rights, but give up the right of self-defense?
Im interested if they are even considering fleeing the scene charges
A Coen brothers movie. I like that allusion.
I looked at the title and said “f no!”
I understand this discussion is focused on the shooter, but what about the couple that placed the now deceased party to the crime into the scenario? Can they be charged with murder? This may be for another discussion. Thanks for sharing.
Depending on where it happened, in some jurisdictions they could be charged with murder because they were all co-actors in the felony. But getting that to hold might be difficult federally, so not sure if they will do that.
If this guy is punished for saving someone in danger, it will make others more hesitant to help folks in need…
I’m in the “don’t charge him” group.
While I really don't like the thought of letting felons have guns, self defense is the right of every person.
Needs to be looked at one case at a time. Violent felon, nonviolent, simple drug posession, posession with intent to sell, trafficking of large amounts, or trafficking of people. Each of these changes everything.
A drug dealer in town got robbed and defended himself. Pled guilty to felon in possession to get the murder charge dropped. Still got 15 years, which i believe was the max.
Co-conspirators of the robber were charged with their friend's death.
Dang, that’s all difficult!
I'd like to know the criminal history of the deceased... I'm guessing he's not a seminary student with a clean record.
I think the pro-pos should get at least some credit for the marksmanship and stepping up to keep the community safe.
Don’t make probation officers supervise felons with guns. The job (probation officer) is dangerous enough as it is.
Lol. Really? Explain how dangerous their job is. And why.
Short answer: Yes.
I really don't want criminals and the mentally unwell ignoring firearms laws. Isn't it "good guys" with guns the whole argument for you people?
Like John said, if they're that dangerous, they shouldn't be in public since these laws do nothing to really stop violence. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." - Thomas Jefferson.
????? "You people"??? Seriously?🙄
He meant the people at ASP. But he's still not right lol. @@taylorlibby7642
What about the single mother who was convicted of food stamp fraud? I am not sure I would say all criminals need to be stripped of their firearms.
Your dog whistle is offensive, bro.
