Examples of good practise for adults with autism are rare in Flanders. Theorising and talking is easy, providing good enough care for people with autism stays a challenge and deserves more attention. Actions speak louder then words.

The lockstep tragedy of neurotypical thinking and behavior depicted in the book "A field guide to earthlings" is the main reason in my opinion. NT's are not the superior beings they consider themselves to be. With many things they are slow or even backward. Also people with Autism are a suppressed minority and neurotypicals are more than happy to leave it that way. Neurotypical privilege in society. Without this privilege a lot of NT's would not fare well in the competition.
Maybe, but being autistic is not really a blessing, u know. Most autistic people need some sort of support, without which they would not survive. Is it not a disease, but certainly not a blessing either. I am very glad to be a NT.
@@smendes2004 Im autistic, and you're correct. While my autism isn't *all* doom and gloom, it brings me more deficits than it does strengths, and if I could choose, I'd rather be NT. I'd have almost certainly been more successful in life.
