Sakhi Aaj Kaisi Manohar Ghadi Hai | Asha Jain | Beat of India

Though she now lives in Delhi, Asha ji has spent many of her growing up years in Allahabad and carries on her deep bond with U.P and Bihar through her love for the folk music of the region.
She studied Hindustani Classical from Siddheswari Devi and Pt. Amarnath but folk music is and has been her constant passion. She learnt songs from every formal or informal singer she came across in her life and travels... from her grandmother, mother, aunts to the "mirasins" who sang at all the occassions in the house. Her songs are from different parts of the Hindi Speaking belt of North India.
While retaining their simple flavour, she has adapted the songs to her own, slightly classical style.
