Fighting for Kashmir will drain our recourses and energy which is much needed for both the countries to address bigger challenges. Making LOC As a permanent border is a feasible option. But our first and foremost job in hand is to win over our kashmiri brothers and sister and make them feel at home. Similarly we also need to address in injustice done to Kashmiri pundits.......they need to be reinstated in their motherland at any cost. Peaceful coexistence is the only way to survive and prosper.

Single point: Why cant the Plebiscite be held in terms of UN resolution, 1947? No need to talk so much. Kashmiris should be given the chance for self - determination as promised. India has broken the promise on the pretext of Pakistan not withdrawing its forces from the border. Just hold the plebiscite- thats it.

India should not legitimize the so-called "peaceful section" of its arch enemy Pakistan. Kashmir is not the issue between two countries. Pakistan has people who think that they are descendents of Arab and Mongol raiders of India. Their goal is to raise their flag over Delhi and establish dar-e-Islam (land of Islam) in India.

It was an event for Khurdish Kasuri to sell his book. India ia a big market for him. Yashwant Sinha was the only truth speaking person on the panel. Nidhi Rajdan was besides herself for the opportunity to be a host and was gushing praises of Khurshid. We all know how Parvez Muhsarraf sabotaged Bhajpaye's Lahore visit. Indian journalists have never darerd to ask difficult questions to Musharraf. They are always appreciative of his audience. What were Manmohan Singh and Advani doing if they were to be just mute audiences?

When she asked why talking to Hurriyat, when there is an elected Govt in J&K; why not talk to Dr. Abdullah or PDP, Mr. Khurshid evaded that question with a round about answer. Hurriyat, every one knows is the stooge of Pakistan and they don't represent the people of Kashmir (POK & J&K combined). People of Pak and India want to live in peace. Then who is that person, or what is that powerful force which is stalling peace process, every time, whenever some solution is round the corner. Every one knows that it is the Pak's army, which pulls the strings from top, of terror groups like LeT, JeM etc., So Sh. Modi ji (who like Sh. Vajpayee ji, went out of the way to promote peace between two nations) was forced to think differently .. not to have any more discussions with Pak and ordered retaliatory strikes, which is yielding results. Now Pak realizes, that terror strikes are pin-pricks to India and that Pak can never take on the Indian army, in spite of its nuclear sabre-rattling, and is opening a second channel for talks, through people like Mr. Khurshid and Mani shanker Iyer (MSI) .. MSI, who made a fortune through his lecture tours in Pak, and is now, the unofficial spokesperson of Pak in India ( hugging and kissing Hurriyat frequently) wants eternal talks. India will engage in talks, when both the Pak army and the Govt are ready for discussions, to find peaceful solution to all pending problems. Days of diplomatic dramatics for public consumption are over. A climate conducive to such discussions (devoid of proxy war through Jihadist, improving trade relationships, promoting sports and cultural ties) is a pre-condition. I also appreciate the sentiments expressed by Dr. Abdullah.

Pakistani establishment promoted extremism since 1979 til 2000s but since last 2 years military is trying its best to uproot this curse. Unfortunately now it seems like India is heading towards fundamentalism & extremism (according to the news almost everyday, courtesy RSS) , if this phenomena reaches the threshold, it will take years ro recover.

But still it will take at least 8-10 more years , and only if , upcoming army leaderships will also continue current COAS's policies. (Indian media promotes only Hafiz Saeed ,but believe me he is a tiny dwarf against the monsters who were present in tribal areas , 70 % of them either dead or escaped to Afghanistan after operations of last 2 years)

The discussion was illuminative. I support Yashwant Sinha's views on govt-to-govt discussions to be undertaken when the groundwork is completed. I also need that people to people contact is without any financial benefit on either side be it cricket, ghazal singers or similar cultural exchanges. Also as a goodwill Mr Kasuri should provide all to download his book (from which he wishes to derive some income) on the internet "he wants" to be the messiah of peace.

We should maintain decency in our comments. Whether we are Hindus or Muslims we are one people in the end. If India and Pakistan can not resolve their differences its the failure of the leadership at both sides not of the people because leadership's job is to resolve problems. And, in this regard the responsibilities on Indian leadership is more than Pakistan because the ultimate solutions of the problem lies with them not with Pakistan.
