    I know. I've got the Media Mod on my GoPro Hero 12 Black. I also got them in the pool. It works great! Connected DJI Mic 2, with 1 RX and 2 RX. The RX connected with the 3,5mm jack, so i use one microphone to record the engine sound of my motorcycle, and one microphone to record my voice.

    hey is the media mod water proof? or like rain proof atleast??

    • @the_daniel_life
      @the_daniel_life  3 місяці тому

      The GoPro Media Mod is **not waterproof or water-resistant**, so it is not designed to be used in heavy rain or submerged in water. The Media Mod is intended primarily for enhancing audio quality and adding accessories like lights or external microphones.
      However, it can handle light splashes or drizzles, but anything more could potentially damage the electronics or accessories connected to it. If you plan to use your GoPro in wet conditions, it's better to remove the Media Mod and use the camera on its own or with a waterproof housing.

    helpful video are the media mods and batteries from the 10,11 compatible with the hero 12

    • @the_daniel_life
      @the_daniel_life  7 місяців тому +1

      The compatibility of media mods and batteries from previous GoPro models with the Hero 12 can vary. While some accessories may be compatible across models, it's always best to refer to the manufacturer's specifications or reach out to their customer support for the most accurate information. Companies like GoPro typically provide compatibility details on their website or in product manuals. They might also release compatibility updates or new accessories specifically designed for the latest model. Checking these official sources ensures that you have the most reliable information regarding compatibility.

    In H12, is it possible to record one channel ( R ) from a Bluetooth Mic and the other ( L ) from an external mic connected to the media mod?

    • @the_daniel_life
      @the_daniel_life  Рік тому +2

      As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, GoPro Hero 12 was not released, and I don't have specific information on any developments or changes to the product lineup after that date.
      However, based on the information available up to that point, GoPro's Media Mod typically allows for the connection of an external microphone. If the design and functionality remain consistent, you should be able to connect an external microphone to the Media Mod. The external microphone would likely capture audio for both left (L) and right (R) channels.
      However, using a Bluetooth microphone for one channel (R) and an external mic for the other (L) might require specific audio routing capabilities that are not standard in most action cameras. Generally, action cameras like GoPro are designed for simplicity and may not offer such advanced audio routing options.
      To get the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking the official documentation for the GoPro Hero 12 or reaching out to GoPro's customer support. They can provide details on the specific features and capabilities of the Hero 12, including any advancements in audio recording and the compatibility of the Media Mod with multiple audio sources.

    if you have the media mod in the 12 does the tripod screw hole thing still work or do you need a longer screw because it's in the media mod?

    • @the_daniel_life
      @the_daniel_life  11 місяців тому

      As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have specific information about the GoPro Hero 12 or its accessories, including the Media Mod. However, I can provide general guidance based on previous GoPro models.
      Typically, when you use a Media Mod or a similar accessory with a GoPro, it may alter the placement of the tripod mount or affect the access to it. In such cases, you might need a longer screw to attach your GoPro to a tripod or other mounts.
      To get the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the GoPro Hero 12 and its accessories, including the Media Mod, I recommend checking the official GoPro website or contacting GoPro customer support. They can provide specific details about the product and any considerations for using the tripod mount with the Media Mod.

    I just purchased a hero 12 and I would like a wireless external mic so I can motovlog. Do you have any recommendations for an external wireless mic set up and should I go ahead and purchase the gopro media mod? Thank you.

    • @the_daniel_life
      @the_daniel_life  Рік тому +2

      Congratulations on your purchase of the GoPro Hero 12! For motovlogging with wireless external audio, here are some recommendations:
      ### 1. **Wireless Microphone:**
      - Consider a wireless microphone system compatible with the GoPro. The Rode Wireless Go and the Saramonic Blink 500 are popular choices. Make sure it has a compatible connector for the GoPro or includes an adapter.
      ### 2. **GoPro Media Mod:**
      - The GoPro Media Mod can be a useful accessory. It provides additional mounting options and features a built-in 3.5mm microphone port. This can be convenient for connecting an external microphone without the need for additional adapters.
      ### 3. **External Microphone Adapter:**
      - If you decide not to get the Media Mod, you'll need an external microphone adapter to connect the wireless microphone to your GoPro Hero 12. Ensure it's compatible with the camera model.
      ### 4. **Mounting Setup:**
      - Invest in a stable and secure mounting setup for your GoPro on your motorcycle helmet. This is crucial for safety and to ensure your camera captures stable footage.
      ### 5. **Windscreen for Microphone:**
      - When riding, wind noise can be a challenge. Consider getting a windscreen or a furry cover for your microphone to minimize wind interference.
      ### 6. **Test and Adjust:**
      - Before hitting the road, test your setup in different conditions to ensure the audio quality is good and there's no interference. Adjust the microphone placement if needed.
      ### 7. **Backup Power:**
      - When recording for an extended period, especially on longer rides, consider having backup power sources for both your GoPro and the wireless microphone system.
      ### 8. **Editing Software:**
      - Use video editing software to fine-tune your motovlogs. This can include adjusting audio levels, cutting unnecessary parts, and adding any necessary effects.
      Remember that the GoPro Hero 12 already has enhanced audio features compared to its predecessors, but an external microphone setup can further improve the audio quality, especially in dynamic environments like motovlogging.
      Always check product compatibility and reviews before purchasing to ensure that the components you choose work well together. Happy motovlogging with your new GoPro Hero 12!
