Do people in Iran celebrate Ramadan? I'm just asking as I watch several Iranian nomad channels and nobody is fasting in any of the videos. They're conducting their lives as normal, like in this video everyone is out shopping in downtown Shiraz like there's a big clothing sale going on, and not a religious holiday. As for Christians we're honoring Lent, which means we're also fasting until Jesus rises again on Easter. So cutting out meat is one of those sacrifices. Today is St. Patrick's Day, and Corn Beef and Cabbage is a tradition for celebrating this day. Some people eat the corn beef as it is a substitute for meat being a cheap cut of meat, only the Irish could afford on St. Patrick's Day. Fish is allowed on Sundays as well. Only pregnant mothers or sick Catholics can get absolution for meat during Lent. *But, I understand Ramadan is a time of fasting until after the sun sets. I've been seeing Iranians in these videos eating like normal all day long, including deserts, and attending birthday parties. So I'm must asking.

This video was not recorded in Ramadan
      but
Most Iranian people do not fast in Ramadan
      Because
1 : Many people are travelers and it is not obligatory for travelers to fast while traveling
2: It is now the new year in Iran and people are celebrating.
The question for me is, do Christians fast under any circumstances?‏
