    One of the most enjoyable interviews I've seen with a musician. No hype and not full of himself. It's a shame we don't have ones like this anymore.

      @100chuckjones 9 років тому +4

      goatstaog no what your doing is trolling the Randy Bachman comments. lol .. which is fine with me, I could care less to be honest, but if want to know Bachman donates a lot of his time and money to charity's. I don't know if you know, he paid to have his bands equipment shipped to the Carpenter House Hospice and Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton last Christmas, to play for free with all proceeds going to the hospice house. see that's for people with cancer. not only that but ive met Bachman, he's not a stuck up shrewd like Cummings was. to be honest the nicest guy of them all is Jim Kale . ive met every member of the original guess who.your a burton Cummings fan. you know the guy who stole all the rights to Randy's music.bought it, said he's give it back, then he just hides every time Bachman asks about it, why do you think the last album was all covers ? because Bachman knows burton is a pincher when it comes to copyrights.well you asked, so there you go.

    • @100chuckjones
      @100chuckjones 9 років тому +1

      goatstaog man. your a riot..lol just look at your other comments on this thread. your emotionally upset that others appreciate Randy's music. enough to reply to multiple comments from multiple people.I was just minding my own business making a comment on a living legend, one of the greatest guitar players ever. and along comes someone saying ""you're the one stating he's so great, so tell us why"".so step back just for a second and put yourself in my position. im thinking your a troll. am I wrong ?why would someone be hanging around a randy Bachman video asking people why randy is so great ?your trying to justify why you don't like him, are you trying to change my mind or something ? lolwho cares man. there's better things to do in life than be miserable over your hate for Randy.good luck.

    Around the 24:00 and the 27:00 minute mark, when Randy's talking about drugs, I now get the line from "Rock Is My Life and This Is My Song" from "Not Fragile" - "It's a cryin' shame that some of us have not survived. No use in askin' how it happened, but very few are left alive". It only took me 44 years.

It is sad that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has let you down, but you live in the hearts of people all over. Especially in the hearts of 🇨🇦 Canadians 🇨🇦 and we have some great rock bands. BTO is legendary. My son, (singer) hated rock and then he heard 70's rock, he had a change of heart. Then he heard BTO and was sold. I'm glad you sobered up and left The Guess Who. I remember when I was a teenager growing up in the 70's and I worked at this Newspaper agency. We used to put the inserts in papers. The job was called "stuffing" the papers. Anyway we had to get picked up by this guy at something like 3am. He would take us to the Agency to suff papers. The guy who picked us up looked like Randy Bachman to me and we always went nuts in the van if a BTO song came on the radio while we were on our way to the agency. This was all during the time BTO was just becoming famous. Takin Care of Business was our theme. When they followed it up with Roll on Down the Highway we just went crazy. For whatever the reason, BTO was the #1 band for us, and we couldn't get enough of them. This was huge because I grew up in a family where my father played guitar in a Country band. I think this was our sign that we were true rock and roll fans. My Brother played in a band that played top 40 type music, which was okay but sometimes they would get requests for jazz type songs which was fine but I like the more aggressive rock songs.

    A lot of admiration for him, as a great musician who rocked me out in my early teens, but who avoided the drink/drug lifestyle and is therefore still clear and clean despite maybe having more than his share of cheeseburgers, but he took measures to drop weight and try to get healthy. A lot of rockers would be dead by now but he's still articulate and lucid and enthusiastic. Also, as per interviews like this he has a bunch of great tales to tell, but with a healthy sense of humility.

When they induct newer bands that have maybe done 1/10th of what other WELL established musicians have done.......it speaks of EGO and nothing else. This guy is such a wonderful person who is also a old time musical genius. Randy Bachman is among a huge group of performers who literally changed the world and by doing so changed my life. They said yes, and found out later Jackson was the Vice Principal at Sir John A. Macdonald high school! They played a show, (that I got in trouble for sneaking out to) at the school. Well, Yes and Rush just recently got inducted in the last couple of years. The Beastie Boys got in before both of them.

    I was alive when American Woman hit the radio. It seems tame now but when it came out it was really progressive. To write another rock classic like You Aint Seen Nothin Yet is impressive. Takin Care of Business is another. I wish I could write one good line! Thanks Randy!!

      You can write a great song, but you have to make the commitment to do that. If you "wish" you could do it; your already half way there. To wish is to desire and dream; that's where the magic starts. "Taking Care of Business" on an inspirational level, is maybe one of Rock's greatest songs.
